AUCTION CATALOG 2019 Because of you, One big night Changed everything Dear Friends Welcome to our 8th annual The BIG Night. We gather in celebration and support of the more than 3,000 children and youth enrolled and participating in the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Helena and Calistoga in our St. Helena Clubhouse, St. Helena Teen Center, Calistoga Clubhouse, Calistoga Teen Center and the Howell Mountain School Site. We offer our heartfelt gratitude to our hosts and sponsors, the Trinchero Family, Trinchero Family Estates, our BIG Night chairs Bob Torres and Marianna Hawkins, and the many Board members, patrons, donors, volunteers, vintners, and staff members who have made this event possible. Since the last BIG Night- and with over one million raised, boy was last year BIG- we have taken our teens on over 10 different college tour trips, brought kids interested in space and science from all of our units to NASA Space Camp in Alabama, remodeled our outdated tech lab in St. Helena into a STEM Lab, expanded our Healthy Habits nutrition program across all sites, bought two brand new vans for trips, began boxing and fitness classes for our teens, increased funding for our art programs, brought in world-class musicians and music classes, partnered with health services to provide counseling for the kids who need us the most, and more. We take seriously your trust and support. We work tirelessly to make sure the funds we raise are spent wisely. We can only do what we do because of your support at The BIG Night. We rely every day on your generosity, and we also honor that generosity by ensuring every dollar is used to change the lives of as many Up Valley children as possible. Now you and seven friends will travel no further than St. Helena for an incomparable evening of white truffles, celebrated for their aroma, taste and aphrodisiac qualities. A Dream of an Evening at Trinchero Napa Valley for Twenty BIG Lot 12
Begin your Dream of an Evening with a sampling of Robert Parker 100-point wines and a hands-on cheese pairing with a cheese making demonstration. You will then be led through the wine making process on a private tour, including barrel tasting. After the tour, you will head over to the reserve library to treat your taste buds further with a five course wine pairing dinner prepared by Chef James Houghton.
End the evening with fireside cigars and port on the Solera patio and a game of bocce under the stars on TNV’s bocce pavilion. At the end of the night, each couple will depart with a magnum of Trinchero Napa Valley wine, signed by the winemaker, Mario Monticelli.

S.W.A.T. Team Adventure with Napa County Sheriff BIG Lot 14
You DO NOT want to miss your chance to partake in this heart-pounding adventure featuring tactical training, demonstrations, instruction in the use of special weapons, and S.W.A.T. Team assault exercises. This truly unique opportunity includes Sheriff’s Department transportation from a central point to and from the S.W.A.T. training site in Napa County. Firearms instruction will include a variety of specially selected weapons under the supervision of S.W.A.T. team experts. Besides sharpening your aim, our “Good Guys” will expose you to a simulated S.W.A.T. team invasion where you will be asked to play a role that will test your instincts and judgment under pressure. Following your heroic day on the range and at the assault building, you’ll unwind at a special reception at Trinchero Family Estates in St. Helena. Fine wines and tasty food will be served so that the whole team and your instructors can raise a toast to your bravery and valor! Your performance will be critiqued and awards will be presented by Napa’s finest, including Sheriff John Robertson himself. The date is set for May 9th of 2020. We recommend you get a good night’s sleep the night before this exercise!

BIG Lot 15 Mare Island Distillery Package for Eight
From humble roots Dave Phinney moved to the Napa Valley in 1997, where he took a job on the night shift as a temporary harvest worker. Through luck and hard work he was able to establish himself as one of the more unique winemakers in the valley. Always curious, Dave set his sights on spirits with the opening of Savage & Cooke Distillery on Mare Island in 2018. The BIG Night is the largest annual funding source for the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Helena and Calistoga. We provide more than 25 programs for 3,000 Up Valley children and youth in our five Clubs.

For every child in our care we invest $1,400 in the form of program supplies and staffing. At $50, our fees are structured for those who need us most and no child is ever turned away. Their membership is a key to state of the art facilities and life altering programs. YOU, and people like you, make that possible. In raising your paddle you are making sure that the Club experience is affordable and accessible for all kids, especially those who need us most.

Our Live Auction will be immediately followed by dessert and entertainment at the TNV Hospitality Center Patio.
Highly Recommended: qCheck To use qCheck, present a credit card at check-in when you receive your paddle number and auction catalog. The credit card you present will be applied to any successful bids or donations you make with your paddle number. Your invoice will be waiting for you when you pick up your items. You will not need to wait in line to pay.
Standard Check-Out If you did not register a card at registration, check-out begins 30 minutes after the close of the Live Auction. Our volunteers must enter all the auction bids into the computer database before check-out can begin. Thank you for your patience.
Once check-out begins, you may visit the check-out area located in the foyer of the Hospitality Center. You may pay with cash, check or a credit/debit card. You may then pick up your purchases. You will be mailed a paid invoice. Please ensure we have an accurate address on file for you. *ALL AUCTION ITEMS MUST BE COLLECTED BY HIGHEST BIDDER WITHIN 96 HOURS* Thank you for your support! 1. Your bid number is printed on your auction paddle and is registered in your name. Use it when bidding and do not allow anyone else to use it. If your number is attached to the high bid, we will assume you want to buy the item.
2. Payment must be made in full by cash, check (payable to the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Helena and Calistoga), credit card, or debit card after the conclusion of bidding on August 17, 2019.
3. Items may be released on presentation of a paid receipt at the pickup area. Alternate arrangements will be made in cases where items are unavailable for pickup on the night of the event.
4. For auction items and services not claimed, it will be the responsibility of the purchaser of items and/ or services to ensure we have contact information so we can arrange for the time and place of delivery or pickup, preferably within 96 hours of the event.
5. Items- including gift certificates- may not be redeemed for cash nor may the expiration dates be extended. Unless noted, all purchased services must be used on or before August 17, 2020.
6. The Board of Directors and the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Helena and Calistoga warrant neither the quality nor the value of items and services auctioned. While every effort has been made to describe each item correctly, all items are sold “as is” and “with all faults or charms.”
7. Some items have restrictions or exclusions. If you have a question about whether something is or is not included in a bid item, please ask one of the volunteers; they will be happy to find the answer.
8. Generally, the IRS allows the amount bid over the retail value to be deducted as a charitable contribution, which will be reflected on your paid invoice. The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Helena and Calistoga is a recognized federal non-profit. The tax ID number is 68-0226714.
