  • 2007 Pinot Noir Southeast Block
THE SOUTHEAST BLOCK The Southeast Block is a six-acre section of the Bethel Heights estate vineyard that consistently gives us wines of distinctive character. It was planted in 1979 on a south-facing slope between 420 and 520 feet elevation. The red clay soil is volcanic in origin, three feet deep and well drained. The vines are 100% Pommard clone, planted on their own roots in Oregon's pre- phylloxera days. At 30 years old the vines are still healthy and apparently phylloxera-free. The crop is held close to two tons per acre for optimum quality. THE 2007 VINTAGE was a classic cool Oregon vintage, similar to 2005 (and 1999 and 2001) and 2007 PINOT NOIR ® SOUTHEAST BLOCK very different from 2006, our hottest vintage on record. In 2007, the summer provided adequate Certified Sustainably Grown heat to ripen the fruit, and the fall finished cool, allowing the grapes to fully express their varietal Harvest date: October 5th, 2007 character without losing acidity and without Grapes at harvest: accumulating excessively amounts of sugar, as Pinot noir tends to do in hot vintages. Oregon's Willamette Valley is, at this point, synonymous with glorious Pinot noir. No other grape is as reflective of climatic and site differences, and small distances in the valley can yield wines of distinctly different character, each captivating in its own way. WELCOME 2020 is a year of change. In every corner of the world, and in every area of our own lives, things are very different than they were one year ago. And with that change, there has been struggle. A struggle to find new ways of doing what must be done, a struggle to let go of what can no longer be, and for some, a struggle to survive. Between the moments of struggle, remarkable adaptation has taken root – growing despite challenge. Together, we have created, we have collaborated, and we have adapted. Still in progress, and evolving, but from challenge has risen a new recognition of the ways in which we are connected. So here we are – somewhat disconnected physically, but adapting together to create solutions for the evolving challenge of healthcare disparities in our community. Thank you for showing up to create a strong, stable safety net of accessible, affordable healthcare for Oregon’s vineyard workers and their families. Thank you for saying yes to acknowledging your actions, your contributions can help shape the storyline of this challenging year, and strengthen our response for the future. ¡Salud! EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR REDEVELOPMENT OF THE FORMER PRINCETON NURSERIES WAREHOUSE BUILDINGS AT THE MAPLETON PRESERVE SOUTH BRUNSWICK TOWNSHIP MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NEW JERSEY Submitted by: DWV Development LLC 80 Old York Road Ringoes, New Jersey Submission Date: July 20, 2017 PROPOSAL FOR REDEVELOPMENT OF THE FORMER PRINCETON NURSERIES WAREHOUSE BUILDINGS 1. Introduction DWV Development LLC (“DWV”), on behalf of itself and its affiliates, proposes to redevelop the former Princeton Nurseries Warehouse Buildings (the “Warehouse Buildings”) and surrounding property (the “Premises”) located at 145 Mapleton Road, South Brunswick, New Jersey to create a local agricultural based food, beverage and event hub (the “Mapleton Wine and Food Center”) to attract customers from around the state, as well as the New York City and Philadelphia areas. The Mapleton Wine & Food Center would pay homage to the former Princeton Nurseries by growing a portion of its products in the Mapleton Preserve fields. The agricultural component would be used for consumption by the business on the Premises, as well as for educational and tourism purposes. As set forth herein, DWV proposes to redevelop the Mapleton Wine & Food Center in three phases (the “Project”) to assure that a portion of the redevelopment opens to the public as quickly as possible before the buildings further deteriorate. The Project includes the following: Phase I: • Stabilize and preserve the existing buildings; • Plant the vines for the vineyard; • Plant fruit trees and vegetables; • Open and operate winery; • Sublease warehouse space to Old York Cellars for wine storage; • Open wine bar; and • Open event space for public and private functions. Phase II: • Opening of a farm-to-table restaurant, market, food hall or distillery; • Opening of an onsite Craft Brewery; • Create additional event space for music, comedy and other shows, as well as for educational experiences; • Repurpose portions of the Premises for additional winery warehouse space.
