2 more questions about press attending the Kreisky dinner on Nov. 12:

Nancy Lammerding wonders if Art Buckward should be invited?

He was invited to a prior dinner (she didn't know which one) but he was on vacation. He subsequently wrote a colunm about it. Now she says ''someone upstairs" wanted him invited. That could only be Mrs. Ford or Nancy Howe, and I'm sure if it were Mrs. Ford she would say Mrs. Ford.

She wanted you to have the final decision. It wouldn't be counted against our 3 from the press room, but she wanted you to have the final say. (Lammerding doesn't think he should be invited.) ~/ ~OK to invite Buckwald to the dinner for Kreisky

___Don 1t have him invited this time -- but he can be put on a list for a subsequent dinner. ---No, period (nicely) -----OTher:+------

David Binder- New York Times

He is the diplomatic correspondent for the New York Times - covers State Department, Pentagon, international scene. He was the Bonn bureau chief for the Times. His wife is German. He was suggested by State Department as an after-dinner: entertainment guest for the Kreisky guest. When the list came out of the President's office, the President had marked on it: Should we have someone like him to AFTER dinner entertainment? (The inference being that someone of his caliber be invited to the dinner itself.) She wants to know what you think about this. Should we go ahead and invite him to the enter tainment? __Yes, invite him to after dinner entertainment ~See if he can be put on for the dinner - if he doesn't count against our quota (perhaps in the spot they will find for Buckwald?} Ofi!Der ------• , ...
