The only error message I get is "Try that again" 2. I haven't changed the computer, as far as I know. I'm using a laptop, so no new hardware or anything. Yes, the Windows Store show(ed) that I was logged in to my Microsoft Account. It even showed that I owned Kindle (one of the apps I was trying to download) but that it just wasn't installed on this machine. Seeing as I hadn't tried to get it from the store on any other machine, some message must have gone through the system somehow that I was trying to get that app. 2. All the other default Windows 10 apps I've tried to use have worked fine. The problem only seems to be when I try to get a new one. I tried to follow the onscreen instructions for additional information, but the event log isn't showing such an event, at least as far as I can find. And when I tried its suggested command line for more information, I got the error that: 'Get-AppxLog' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. So it seems I'm stuck, partly because I don't know enough about the Windows 10 system or programming to do anything more at the moment. And now the Windows Store won't open at all. It just creates errors in the with the error code -2147023170.
