Windows Updates

IMPORTANT: Please note that as of January 2020, stopped their support for . This means that Microsoft will no longer be issuing security updates to any computers still running Windows 7. If your device is still running Windows 7 then you could be at risk from potentially malicious activity. Please update your machine to as soon as possible.

Windows 10

Open and click on > Update & Security settings > Windows Update.

Here, press on the ‘Check for updates’ button.

If any updates are available, they will be offered to you.

If Windows Update says that your PC is up to date, it means that you have all the updates that are currently available for your system.

Windows 8

Hover your mouse over the bottom right corner of the screen to bring up the charms menu. From here open Settings

In the new menu, select ‘change PC settings’ at the bottom of the screen

Go to the bottom of the PC settings tab and select ‘Windows Update’. Then press the ‘Check for updates now’ button

Windows 7

Open the Start menu. This can be achieved by clicking Start button at the bottom-left of your screen.

Open . Click ‘Control Panel’ on the right column.

Go to ‘System and Security’. Click on the green header.

Open Windows Update. Choose ‘Windows Update’

Check for updates. Click the ‘Check for updates’ button on the main screen.

If you don't see the button, click the ‘Check for updates’ link in the left pane. It's towards the top.
