ve find no record of the Los Angeles Transit Company.

From information in oody's Transportation (1956) the fol lowing appearsi The Los Angelos Transit Lines was incorporated on November 7* 1910 as the Los Angeles .ailway Corporation,1/as successor to the Company,1/and acquired the city lines (narrow gauge) owned by the 'ailway Company and the Lee Angeles Internrban Pailway. Its present title was adopted January 15* 19li5. The company furnishes the City of Los Angeles and suburbs, covering an area of about four hundred souare miles, with railway and bus service, serving a population of 1,900,000, including all the transit business in Los Angeles except that of the Metropolitan Coach Lines. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of , holding company controlling numerous bus lines throughout the country, and having no rail carrier affiliation.

Since from the foregoing it appears tbet the Los Angeles Transit Lines, engaged in local street railway and bus operations, is not an express company, sleeping car company or carrier by railroad subject to part of the Interstate oaaerce Act, and is not owned or controlled by or oncer common control with any such company or carrier, it is ay opinion that it is not an employer within the meaning of the Railroad etirement Act or the ailroad Unemployment Insurance Act.
