DIRECTIONS: skill level All allowances are 1/2" & 1/4". RS=Right Side(s), WS= Wrong Side(s). CF= Center Front. Follow pro- vided, depending on measurements adjustments may need to be made to the pattern for better a fit. CUTTING: Body: two fronts, cut one fack on fold, cut two and four 10"x1/2" casing pieces. Lining: Cut two fronts, cut one back and cut two sleeves. Ribbon: Cut two 41" strips. TIP: You may need to adjust the pattern if the lining used inside is a woven; add a shoulder for of movement. ASSEMBLY: 1. pattern to material and cut pieces out of fabric and lining. 2. Fold darts together on both front panels and sew 4" dart down. 3. Pin RS of vest front and back side seams and shoulder seams together. the vest back and fronts together along the shoulders and sides, using 1/2" . Press seams flat. 4. Pin RS and stitch seam together 1/4" seam allowance. Pin RS of sleeve and armhole together and stitch together at 1/4" seam allowance. Clip seam allowance around curve to ensure ease of movement. When lining the vest, sew the lining fronts and back together the same way. 5. Place the vest and the lining right sides together and pin them together. Stitch along the center front, and of sleeve. Leave hem line of vest open. Press shoulder and side seam allowance open. 6. Fold two casing strips in half and sew together and close at 1/2" seam allowance. Repeat step on other two casings.

Place sewn together casing onto center front seam on each side of the bodice 1" from bottom of hem line. Pin into place and stitch onto seam allowance of bodice at 1/4". 8. Run ribbon up one side of casing and down the other side of the casing leaving 11" hanging out of bottom of casing 5/8" from bottom of center front hem right below casing on front of body and lining making a 1/2" hole. This can be done by machine or hand. 9. Run front ribbon through button hole. Do the same for the back ribbon. 10. Sew the neckline and hem of sleeve down to seam allowance at 1/16" onto the lining to keep it from rolling out. 11. Pin RS of lining and body of hem together. Sew hem closed at 1/2" leaving a 4" opening. 12. Push corners of neckline and hem corners out. 13. Flip 1/2" seam allowance inside of hem at opening and hand stitch closed. the hem down at 1/16".
