Toyohashi University of Technology reformed in October 2010, too. The university's enrolment includes approximately 2,200 students studying in 5 new departments, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Information Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Environmental and Life Sciences and Architecture and Civil Engineering. International students from all over the world are up about 10 percent of the Toyohashi Tech student population, and currently (as of November 1st 2013), we accept 194. Toyohashi Tech is one of the unique and very international universities in Japan. Toyohashi Tech offers a range of degree programs with many interdisciplinary and study opportunities. The university confers degrees at the undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels. Most of the students continue their studies in the graduate programs for the further development of their interdisciplinary understanding of technology. Toyohashi Tech graduates, both Japanese and international, have been making great contributions as scholars, researchers and engineers.

Toyohashi Tech has 210 full time faculty members. Most members of the faculty hold the highest degree attainable in their respective fields. The students-faculty ratio is 9:1, which makes it possible to manage small, engaging classes to benefit students.

Academic programs provide students the opportunity to develop their creativity, skills and tools necessary to function in modern society as researchers and engineers. The program’s aim is to empower students with the necessary knowledge to help human societies develop in harmony with the earth's environment. These programs educate students to become key engineers and researchers with creative and practical capabilities. Laboratory As a result, they can contribute to actualizing symbiosis with the nature and establishing an international collaborative society, and eventually provide practical and reliable support to the human resource development for both developing and developed countries.

Toyohashi Tech has eight research centers focusing on areas including intelligent sensing, robotics, agrotechnology and photonic information storage. And, in spite of our relatively short history, Toyohashi Tech has been internationally recognized for the development of innovative and cutting-edge technology, and major contributions to industry.

Toyohashi Tech located at the heart of Toyohashi, a city in eastern , with a population of 380,000. The Pacific Ocean is only a short bicycle ride away from the campus, and with the spectacular sights of the surrounding mountains, Toyohashi has a mild climate, low cost of living and is within easy reach of , , , and by Shinkansen.

3.Features of Graduate School The mission of our university is to foster engineers and researchers who will be future leaders of society in the field of technological science in both creative and practical ways for the realization of enriched humanity, symbiosis with nature, and an internationally cooperative society. We place emphasis on our graduate programs, promoting an education that will foster lucid of insight, a fine and considerate sensitivity, adaptable intelligence and a global perspective. Looking ahead to further human development, we also conduct research with the aim of developing new standards in technological science. 8. Message from PEACE participants

This is a massage from Hamadard Sahar who study as a second year master student in Toyohashi University of Technology, Department of Civil and Architecture Engineering. According to me, studying abroad in developed countries is a key toward success, improvement and sustainability for every individual especially in the country like japan, not only for receiving knowledge but also for cultural, social and other positive modern issue’s exchange, additionally, we can get a snap shot about the rout of industrialization and development of these countries, furthermore, studying and experimental staff ,facilities ,environment are available in advance, there for, I would encourage my colleagues to look after full scholarship of JICA-PEACE (Promotion and Enhancement of the Afghan Capacity for Effective Development) which is one of the most vital and useful project for afghan capacity building in short term and good establishment in long term. Toyohashi University of Technology where I am studying is one the best technology university here in japan. According to me technology studies and researches are somehow function of experimental work, which can be strongly considered. For me whom I study in the civil and architecture department, theoretical studies based on experimental results have immense useful impact. As a whole our laboratory work on urban planning field, but every student topic is different, although I and my colleagues in lab work to gather for making, spacemen, testing and other experimental works, it also laterally could assist our identified topics. My study topic is about Feasibility study of Kabul City Master Plans, and specific goal is to specify the characteristic points between the Master plans, and What is the need of having a Master Plan, especially in this period which Kabul city spend a critical situation that day by day population are going to increase but the facilities are going to decrease and it make a big problem and challenge for Kabul city urban planning and urban design so lack of existence Master Plan make this challenge for Kabul city which I am going to basically focus on those two recently Master Plan (JICA and ICT) which haven't approved by government until this time.
