Overview of Toyohashi City Toyohashi City is located between Tokyo and Osaka, along the Pacific coast in the southeast corner of Aichi Prefecture, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, Mikawa Bay, lush Yumihari mountain range, and a clear Toyogawa River. It is a warm and peaceful city with a population of 380,000. Surrounded by nature and blessed with a mild climate, Toyohashi has a large agricultural sector and produces a wide variety of crops. Port of Mikawa Toyohashi Area is known as the nation's automotive trade center, and many large companies, including foreign affiliated businesses, are situated here. In addition, Omotehama, a white beach stretching along the Pacific Ocean, is a famous surfing location, and also known as a nesting site for loggerhead sea turtles. ●� Toyohashi was designated as a pivotal NAGOYA ●� city in 1999, and celebrated its 100th TOYOTA ●� anniversary in 2006.
