2020 April, a woman was reportedly killed on the Kunduz-Taloqan main road, at an illegal checkpoint in the Qulbers area, Taloqan city. In another incident, a child 86.8M was reportedly killed and five other civilians were wounded by an Improvised 12% funded (US$) in 2020 Explosive Device (IED) detonation in Chahar in on 23 April. AFGHANISTAN HUMANITARIAN FUND (AHF) 2020 Reportedly, 101 households (approximately 707 people) were affected by floods in Baghlan, Kunduz and Takhar provinces. A needs assessment is 11.32M underway to identify affected families. Contributions (US$) 588 people who were newly displaced by conflict were identified by 19.52M interagency assessment teams to receive humanitarian assistance in Pledges (US$) Badakhshan and Baghlan provinces in the coming days. 4M 11,200 vulnerable people affected by COVID-19 lockdowns received cash for Expenditure (US$) food from a private business group in Kunduz city. 35M East: Over 10,000 people received humanitarian Available for allocation, including carry-over (US$) assistance The security situation remains volatile in the east mainly in Kunar and Nangarhar provinces. Reportedly, 1,000 people from Afghanistan returned from Pakistan to Afghanistan after the Torkham border reopened. Around 718 Pakistani national passport holders reportedly crossed into Pakistan. Also, cargo and truck movements continue three times a week through the Torkham border crossing. A total of 10,661 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) affected by natural disasters and conflict received humanitarian assistance in Kunar and Nangarhar provinces. In addition, 4,971 returnees, IDPs and people from host communities were reached with emergency outpatient health services. A total of 1,321 children were vaccinated for polio and measles. Interagency assessment teams identified 2,275 people across the east to receive immediate humanitarian assistance. North: 13 civilians reportedly wounded by fighting Clashes between the ANSF and an NSAG continued in , Faryab, Samangan, Sar-e-Pul and Jawzjan provinces. Reportedly,13 civilians were wounded due to fighting between ANSF and an NSAG in Almar, Maymana and Qaysar districts in . Inter-agency assessment teams verified 306 people affected by flash floods in Faryab and Jawzjan provinces and 427 people displaced by conflict across the north. In addition, 2,653 people displaced by conflict received humanitarian assistance in Balkh and Samangan provinces. South: Ongoing fighting displaced 700 people in Kandahar In the reporting period, the number of security incidents affecting civilians increased mostly in Kandahar and Uruzgan provinces, and reportedly 700 people were displaced to Kandahar city. Heavy rainfalls reportedly affected agricultural farms and damaged houses in Nawzad, Musa Qala and Washer districts in Hilmand province with information to be verified. Between 22 and 23 April, humanitarian partners assisted 1,244 people affected by conflict and natural disasters in Kandahar and Uruzgan provinces. Needs assessments for both people affected by natural disasters and conflict are ongoing in Nimroz and Kandahar provinces. Centre: Over 1,200 people received humanitarian assistance The security situation in the centre continued to be unstable with security incidents reported in Logar, Maidan Wardak and Kapisa provinces. 623 people affected by natural disasters received humanitarian assistance in Ghazni, Kabul and Panjsher provinces and 651 IDPs received humanitarian assistance in Maidan Wardak and Kapisa provinces. In addition, 495 IDPs were identified for assistance in . West: Displacement and interruption of humanitarian access due to fighting A significant increase in fighting was observed in Badghis, Ghor and Hirat provinces during the reporting period. Ongoing clashes in in Ghor and in Hirat province interrupted humanitarian access on roads connecting Hirat to and resulted in the displacement of 33 families (approximately 231 people). Reportedly, over a hundred families (approximately 700 people) also displaced due to conflict in Qadis district in . Over 800 families (approximately 4,200 people) were affected by flash floods in Badghis province and are currently being assessed. 232 people affected by flash floods were assessed and provided with humanitarian assistance in Hirat and Ghor provinces. During the reporting period, 331 people affected by conflict received assistance in Ghor and Badghis provinces. A needs assessment of more than a hundred other displaced families from Qadis and districts is ongoing in Badghis province. From 18 to 23 of April, 4,763 undocumented returnees came back from Iran, out of which around 22 per cent (1,049 people) received humanitarian aid at the point of entry and at a transit centre in Hirat province.
