Gigs were played in theatres and rock clubs, on glaciers and oil rigs, in festival tents and mountain caves. The travelling was slowly re- placed by a curiosity about the musical tradi- tions of the landscape around the fjord where Andreas grew up. He now plays the music alone, on the eight-string guitar-bouzouki in an acoustic environment. Andreas is also a university researcher focusing on improvisa- tion in connection with traditional music. www.andreasaase.com Andreas Aase spelade i många år med Norges mest kända artister. Han har spelat på otaliga teatrar och rock- klubbar men också på mer udda kon- sertscener som glaciärer, oljeriggar och i berggrottor.     Biografien Stefan Berg wurde in Kassel (Deutschland) geboren und studierte Evangelische Theologie in Marburg und Basel. 2001 bis 2005 war er Stipendiat des Evangelischen Studienwerkes Vil- ligst. Seine Hauptarbeitsgebiete liegen im Bereich der Hermeneutik und Religionsphilosophie. Derzeit ist er Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Collegium Helveticum Zürich und promoviert über das Verhältnis von Religion und Musik. Er ist zudem seit Jahren musikalisch tätig und spielt verschiedene Oboen, Klavier und Cembalo. Marc-Antoine Camp, geboren 1972, promovierte an der Universität Zürich nach einem Stu- dium in Historischer Musikwissenschaft, Musikethnologie und Ethnologie. Zwischen 1997 und 2003 war er Assistent am Musikethnologischen Archiv der Universität Zürich, danach Forschungsstipendiat des Schweizerischen Nationalfonds SNF an der Universidade de São Paulo USP, Brasilien. Er beriet das Bundesamt für Kultur in den jüngsten Bestrebungen zur Förderung des immateriellen Kulturerbes. Gegenwärtig forscht er an der Hochschule Luzern über die Wahrnehmung mikrorhythmischer Musikgestaltung. Hrvaška samega začetka: stičišče literatur, kultur, osebnih stopa v Evropsko unijo. Na meji bomo še kazali govoric in osebnih zgodb. Tudi vaše. Prisluhnimo dokumente, ne pa več prtljage. Postajamo vse bolj si, v festivalskih dneh in v vseh, ki sledijo. neomejeni, se zdi. Vendar nam je, kakor je na spomladanski tiskovni konferenci našega festivala Andrej Blatnik duhovito pripomnila naša odlična sodelavka Vesna predsednik žirije Vilenice Humar, odgovorna urednica Primorskih novic, Nemčija včasih gledala potne liste, zdaj pa nam gleda proračune – in naša omejenost ni izginila, le spremenila se je. Še več, zdi se, da pravzaprav prora- čunov niti ne želi gledati Nemčija, temveč nekakšni globalni finančni polipi, ki so si v Nemčiji, povečini kar v Frankfurtu, tik častitljivega knjižnega sejma, postavili varovane ebenovinaste stolpe finančnega sijaja. Sijaja, ki ga lošči, vpije jug Evrope, znoj imi- grantov in delavcev za drobiž. Kakšne so torej naše nove meje? Literatura se jih od nekdaj trudi prestopati, ne glede na to, kakšne so – od nekdaj je glas proti moči in dominaciji. Zato meje niso le omejitev, ampak tudi izziv. Navdih. Včasih dobesedno. Bližina meje pisanju spreminja motive, teme in jezik, kliče po prestopu v drugost ali vsaj po bližanju čezmejnemu.

After spending twenty years in Berlin and Paris, she now lives in Rueun (Canton Graubünden) and Zurich. In the course of her itinerary through all the times and styles of modern music, Curschellas has created her own unique world. Con- ventional job descriptions can hardly do this woman justice: singer/songwriter, musician, composer, theatrical and film actress – she has already displayed all these capabilities in her artistic career to date. Corin Curschellas writes songs in the genres of world music, chanson, pop, rock, ancient music, ethno, experimental songs, jazz and free music. She plays five instruments, sings in six languages and also composes for others, including Michael von der Heide, Vera Kaa and Stina Werenfels. (Širola was preceded by Franjo Kuhač, and followed by Vinko Žganec and Jerko Bezić). The bulk of Širola’s research was institutionally anchored in the Ethnographic Museum of Zagreb, in particular its Department for Folk Music, where he worked as a musicologist, music curator, and director of the museum (1921-1935, 1941-1945). Širola was the first Croatian ethnomusicologist who endeavoured to imbue his ethnographic insights with contemporary theories; he also brought to his work a solid knowledge of comparative material and the history of research, thus strengthening ethnomusicology as a scholarly discipline. Aside from his research, Širola was also a noted composer. The selected article “Problemi našeg muzičkog folklora” offers an overview of the theories, methods and analytical focuses of Širola’s work. It illustrates the attention Širola paid to the musicological aspects of the phenomena he studied, an approach which also prevailed in the work of the subsequent generation of Croatian and Yugoslav ethnomusicologists.

He first tried his hand as a singer and musician at the age of 13 before forming his band The Monsters in 1986 and setting up his own record label Voodoo Rhythm Records in 1992. With The Monsters, Zeller created an entirely new genre that fuses psychobilly with garage punk and went on to showcase it with more than a thousand concerts in South America, Japan, Australia, the US and the rest of the world. His stage presence as frontman of The Monsters has captivated audiences in smaller clubs and large venues alike. Zeller attained cult status thanks in no small part to this work with Voodoo Rhythm Records, which has gained him a reputation as a resolute champion of innova- tive and experimental artists.
