RULES AND CONDITIONS Prize Fund: €1,000 - Enter Class 29

1. This championship is confined to Registered Connemara. Three year Old 2. The progeny of Registered Connemara Sire & Registered Connemara Dam. 3. Exhibitors In both the Qualifier and the Final must have the CPBS Passport ready for inspection prior to entry to the judging ring. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification. 4. More than one Filly may be selected at any qualifying Show to compete in the Final providing the judges & the ISA agree the standard of warrant such selection. 5. One of the Judges at the final must be from CPBS judges list. 6. qualified for Final are not to enter any other class at Ballinasloe Show 7. POWERS QUARRY 34th INTERNATIONAL RIDDEN REGISTERED CONNEMARA CHAMPIONSHIP

Enter Class 43

Qualifying rounds will be held at designated shows.

Ponies 4 years old and over are eligible. The Championship will consist of two categories A: Ponies 4 to 6 yrs old B: Ponies 7 yrs and upwards. More than one pony in each qualifying class may be selected to compete in the final provided the judges agree that the standard is high enough.

Judge on the day must sign the qualifying entry form(s).

Pony and / or Rider once qualified are not eligible to participate in subsequent qualifiers. This rule may be waived by the Show Committee in exceptional circumstances e.g. sale of a pony or injury of rider prior to final. Permission from the Oughterard Show Committee must be granted prior to any previously qualified pony or rider competing in subsequent qualifying rounds. Failure to do so will result in the entry not being accepted.

On completion of judging at qualifiers the successful qualifier will be given all relevant entry documentation by the ring steward. This must be completed and returned, along with the appropriate fee, to the secretary of the Oughterard show within 7 days- this rule will be strictly adhered to.

Ponies must be registered in a main Connemara Studbook. The Connemara Passport of each pony must be presented prior to judging at the qualifying show and on the day of the final.

The rider must be under 25 years on 1/01/19. Birth certificates must be produced for inspection at qualifying rounds and on the day of the final.

Registered Connemara must be ridden by rider over14 years and under 25 years on 01/01/2019.

Jumping over plain rustic fences will be part of the qualifying rounds and final. Qualifying rounds require a minimum of 4 fences, Jumps at qualifiers should not exceed 90cms in height and 90cms in width. Entrants from shows who do not adhere to this rule will not be accepted.

The final requires a minimum of 8 fences which will include a double and a technical related distance. Tor category A fences must not exceed 90cms in height and 90cms in width. For category B fences must not exceed 1m in height and 1m in width.

Ponies to be ridden in a Plain Snaffle, Pelham or Double . Boots are allowed for the phase only, and must be removed prior to the in- or Flat Sections. Martingales and Spurs are prohibited.

A performance judge must be used at qualifying shows.

Ponies will be judged on type, Confirmation, Jumping technique, way of going and action in-hand. Random Dope testing may be carried out on the day of the final. Any objection must be lodged in writing with the show secretary within half an hour following the completion of the competition, together with €50 which is refundable if the objection is upheld.

The Oughterard show committee, in consultation with the sponsor reserves the right to amend the rules as may be deemed necessary.

MARKING:

Phase 1- In Hand Conformation 0-6 Type 0-6 Movement 0-8

Phase 2 - Flat Pony's Manners and Performance 0-10 Riders ability 0-10 Overall Impression 0-10

Phase 3 - Jumping 4 fences (one is a double) marked 0-10 for each fence. Penalties:- 1st Refusal -5. 2nd Refusal -10. 3rd Refusal Elimination. Each Fence Knocked -5 In the event of a tie at the conclusion of judging the combination awarded the highest points in Phase 3 will be deemed the winner. If there is a tie, the combination with the highest points in Phase 2 will be deemed the winner.

FINAL AT OUGHTERARD SHOW SUNDAY 25TH AUGUST, 2019

I.P.S Breeders Committee

There are qualifiers throughout the 32 counties. The final will take place at the annual IPS Championship show at Mullingar Equestrian Centre in August 2019.

The Championship is open to 1, 2 & 3 year old Show Ponies, Ponies & Mountain & Moorland Ponies.

A sash will be presented to the overall if the yearling is not awarded or Reserve Champion at the final.

Intermediate ponies are not eligible for the championship.

The qualifier will be run as a separate class to the Young Stock Championship Ponies must be Irish Bred. The result sheet and qualifier card with the winners details must be filled out on show day.

The runner up must also be recorded in the event of the winner being unable to attend the final. Owners must be IPS members on the day of show with a valid IPS membership card. Ponies must register with the Irish Pony Society within 7 days of qualification. Registration forms are available on the Irish Pony Society website. No entry fee this year for qualifier class.

Results must be sent to Breda Horgan, Mileen, Kilbarry, Macroom, Co Cork (IPS Breeders Committee Secretary) within 10 days of the show date.

DUBLIN SHOW BREEDERS CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER: Enter Class 117

Open to likely to produce performance , with an athletic at foot. Mares should be registered with an approved studbook or with Weatherby's General Studbook or Weatherby's Non - Register and have recorded breeding. Foal must be by a registered .

Aim: To give recognition to breeders who from suitable mares to produce top quality with performance potential. To encourage the production of quality young stock which might, in time and with suitable nurture, achieve success in various equestrian disciplines. This class aims to serve as an important benchmark for breeders (and the industry at large) to the progress being made in the national herd. The Breeders' Championship is a seminal class for the RDS and for the industry in showcasing the quality of equine being produced nationally for future domestic and export markets. Rules: Passports of all competing mares must be brought to the qualifying shows for scrutiny by the judges / stewards. If valid passports are not available for inspection at the time of judging, the and foal will not be eligible to compete. All mare and foal combinations at both the qualifiers and Final will be shown in-hand using the triangle format (25m x 40m x 25m). Judging will be based on adjudicating the mare as a progenitor of athletic type foals with obvious performance potential. Qualification: The top three mare and foal combinations at this qualifier will be eligible to enter and compete at the Discover Ireland Dublin .

Rules and Conditions Enter Class 89 1. Entries are confined to Animals registered in the Irish Horse Register with the breed codes ISH,RID or ID; & must have Sire & Dam recorded on the passport. 2. Animals must be Sired by a Stallion that is classified in the Irish Book as either: Approved /Preliminary Approved/Supplementary Approved/ Recognised/Preliminary Recognised / Not Approved 1 (NA1) or a Stallion that is classified in the Stud Book as either CLASS 1/Class 2/ RID (GB) /RID (Can) /Grade 2 (GB) 3. The class is also open to Weatherby’s registered animals, progeny of Weatherby’s Thoroughbred Stallions that are not classified in the Irish Horse Register as Not Approved 2 (NA2) or ENTRY in the Irish Horse Register 4. Two Animals may be selected to for the final if the judges and the I.S.A. agree the standard is high enough. 5. Exhibitors to both the qualifier and the final must have the Animals passport avail- able for inspection prior to entry to the judging ring. THE ALL IRELAND IRISH DRAUGHT FOAL AND MARE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Prize Fund €2000 SPONSORED BY: I.W.I.D.O LTD (IRELAND WEST IRISH DRAUGHT HORSE ORGANISATION)

The aim of this Championship is to give recognition to Irish Draught mares who are producing the best foals. RULES AND CONDITIONS - Enter Class No: 116 1. Each mare and foal will be judged as a unit with stronger emphasis placed on the foal. 65% for the foal and 35% for the mare. 2. Entries are confined to Irish Draught Mares with ID Foal at Foot, Mares must be registered in the Irish Horse Register with breed code ID and must be classified as Class 1 or Class 2 in the Irish Draught Horse studbook. Foals must be sired by a stallion that is classified as ID Class 1/Class 2/RID (GB) RID (Can)/Grade 2(GB). 3. Mares must have both sire and dam recorded on their passport and have an Irish Draught or filly foal at foot. Foals must be led at all times. 4. Two mares and foals may qualify at each show provided the judges agree the standard is high enough. 5. Exhibitors to both the qualifier and the final must have their mare's passport available for inspection prior to entry to the Judging Ring. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification. 6. Passports & (Microchips if applicable) should be read by a vet at the final. 7. One of the judges at the qualifying show must be a qualified Irish Draught Horse Judge. 8. Animals qualified for the final are not eligible to enter any other class at Bonniconlon show other than qualifying classes for other ISA Finals. RULES AND CONDITIONS: - Enter Class 115

1. Entries are confined to: Two year old Fillies registered in the Irish Horse Register with the breed codes ID; Fillies must be sired by a stallion that is classified as CLASS 1/Class 2/RID(GB)/RID (can)/Grade 2 (GB). Fillies must have both side and dam recorded on their passport. 2. Exhibitors to both the qualifier & Final must have their animals passport available for inspection prior to entry to the judging ring. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification. 3. Passports & Microchips should be read at the final by a Vet. 4. Two animals in each qualifying class may be selected to compete in the final provided that the judges agree that the standard is high enough. 5. One of the judges at the qualifying show must be a qualified Irish Draught Horse judge. 6. Animals qualified for the final are not eligible to enter any other class at the Show where the final is held. These rules should be read in conjunction with the ISA rules.

1. Entries are confined to foals eligible to be registers if not already registered in the Register with the breed codes ISH or ID 2. Foals must be sired by a Stallion that is classified in the Irish Sport Horse Stud Book as either Approved /Preliminary Approved/Supplementary Approved/ Recognised/Preliminary Recognised / Not Approved 1 (NA1) or a Stallion that is classified in the Irish Draught Stud Book as either CLASS 1/Class 2/ RID (GB) /RID (Can) /Grade 2 (GB). 3. The class is also open to progeny of Weatherby’s registered stallions that are NOT classified as Not Approved 2 (NA2) or ENTRY in the Irish Horse Register. 4. One Foal from selected show may qualify, provided the judges and the ISA agree the standard is high enough. 5. Foals must be led at all times. 6. Exhibitors to both the qualifier and the final must have the mare’s passport ready for inspection prior to entry to the judging ring, “if the Foals passport is not to hand”. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification. 7. Passports and microchips should be read by a vet at the final. 8. RULES AND CONDITIONS Enter Class 112

1. The aim of this championship is to encourage the breeding of Irish Draught Foals. 2. The Championship is open to all foals eligible for R.I.D. status. 3. One Foal to be selected at each qualifier. A second foal may be selected at the discretion of the judges 4. The Dams passport must be produced for inspection at the qualifying rounds and at the final. 5. The foals passport must be produced at the final. 6. One of the judges at the qualifying shows to be from the from the Irish Draught Horse Judges list if possible. 7. Foals competing at the final are ineligible to enter any other class at Bantry Show 8. There will be separate classes for colt foal and filly foals at the final 9. The Champion will be selected from the winners of each class.

Passports must be available for inspection at qualifiers and at the Final Mares already qualified for final are not eligible to enter further qualifiers. THE ALL IRELAND THOUROUGHBRED HORSE WORKING HUNTER CHAMPIONSHIPS SPONSORED BY HORSERAIL

PRIZE FUND; €3,000 RULES ENTER CLASS 69 This competition is run in association with Racehorse to Riding Horse Ireland (RH2RH Ire). Entries are confined to thoroughbred horses (raced or unraced) registered with Weatherby’s or equivalent racing authority deemed eligible by RH2RH Ire. To accommodate show schedules, the qualifier class can be combined with the Novice Working Hunter class at the Show provided that a ISA entry fee has been paid for the qualifier.

Two horses may be selected to qualify for the final if the Judge(s) agree that the standard is high enough. Horses must be 4 yr old and over. Riders to be 16 yrs of age and over. Exhibitors at both the qualifying Show and at the final must have passports available for inspection. Failure to comply with this rule will result in disqualification. These rules must be strictly adhered to alongside the General rules for the ISA. In addition to the qualifying rounds two invitational places will be awarded in the final for the highest placed eligible horses in the equivalent competition at the RH2RH Ire Festival. Rules & Conditions: Enter Class 501

1. Items to be displayed on individual plates and each exhibitor will be allotted their own space (trays optional) on a base 24” Square. 2. Each competitor must bake the three items listed using Odlums products: (i) Decorated Chocolate Cake 20cm /8ins Round (ii) 6 x Almond Bakewell Slices (iii) 6 x Roasted Balsamic, Red Onion & Goats Cheese tartlets. N.B. All recipes can be on the Odlum's website. Own recipes may also be used. 3. Points will be awarded for taste, texture, appearance of baked items and presentation. 4. The competition is confined to amateurs, both male and female, with one entry per exhibitor at the final. 5. The items must be fresh and home baked by exhibitor 6. A special class will be held at each qualifying show. Two entries may qualify from these shows for the final, if judges agree that the standard is high enough. The Qualifiers from each of these shows will go forward to the final, to be held at the Tullamore Show, on Sunday August 12th. 7. All items will be cut and/or sampled at the final 8. Each of the successful qualifiers will receive a hamper containing Odlums products, on appearance at the final 9. Certificates will be awarded to the finalists. 10. 1. All Items must be sole work of the exhibitor 2. Each Exhibit must consist of 1 Article from point A plus 1 other article from points B, C or D making a total of 2 articles.

A. Any Article using Tweed e.g. Picture Max Size 18” x 16”, Cushion (Min Size 16” x 16”- Max size 16” x 16”) or skirt (Adult size only) (This item is obligatory). B. Any article in coloured or self- coloured embroidery made in the current year. C. Hand Knit cardigan lumbar jacket or jumper. Adult size only. D. Any article in cotton crochet using no thinker that a No. 20 cotton thread. 3. All of the above to be made in the current year 4. The items to be displayed as one exhibit 5. Any Item the Judge feels is produced by any other method other than hand shall be disqualified 6. A special class will be held at each qualifying show. 7. One entry may qualify from each qualifying show for the final, if judges agree that the standard is high enough a second entry may be qualified. The Qualifiers from each of these shows will go forward to the final, to be held at the Ballyshannon Show, on Sunday August 19th 8. 1. Each exhibitor must consist of 3 items from the list below (A)- Handmade Picture any medium max 60cm x 45cm (excluding frame) (B)- Flower arrangement for a dining table (space allowed 12” x 12”) (C) -Six Potatoes. Any Variety. (D) – Decorated Victoria Sponge (20cm/8” round (filling & decoration must be non perishable) - the picture must be handmade - Potatoes must be grown by Exhibitor - Exhibitors may only qualify once. - In the event of an objection and following an investigation, and if the exhibitor is deemed be making their living from their profession they may be disqualified 2. Two exhibitors to qualify from each qualifying show 3. This competition will be judged on a points system 4. Points will be awarded for presentation
