Chairperson Susumu TAKAHASHI Chairman Emeritus The Research Institute, Ltd.

Susumu Takahashi is Chairman Emeritus of JRI, the think tank of SMFG (Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group). Mr. Takahashi began his association with JRI in 1990 and held the position of the economics department responsible for researching and analyzing in the field of macro economy and policy issues. Since January 2013, for 6 years, Mr. Takahashi had served as a member of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy of the second Abe Administration, in addition to his long and distinguished career with JRI. Prior to this role, Mr. Takahashi was appointed Director General of the Economic Research Bureau of the Cabinet Office under the first Abe Administration from 2005-2007. In his position in the private sector, Mr. Takahashi is actively involved in formulating policy proposals and disseminating relevant information in a broad range of political, economic, and social fields.

Deputy Chairperson Chikatomo HODO Senior Corporate Advisor Accenture Japan Ltd.

Chikatomo Hodo is Senior Corporate Advisor of Accenture Japan. Mr. Hodo was named to his current position in September 2017. From 2015 September through August 2017, he served as Chairman of Accenture Japan, and from 2006 through August 2015, he served as President of Accenture Japan, with overall responsibility for Accenture’s business in Japan. Prior to assuming these roles, Mr. Hodo led the Communications & High Tech operating group, Strategy group and Accenture’s Communications industry group in Japan.

During his career with Accenture, Mr. Hodo has worked on numerous projects for more than 70 clients across a wide range of industries, including communications, high technology, manufacturing, distribution, financial services, chemicals, consumer products, retail, public service and others.

He is a frequent speaker at major business conferences and has lectured at leading universities in Japan, including Waseda University, Sophia University and The University of Tokyo. He has been a Visiting professor at Waseda University Business School since 2010 and he now serves on the Administrative Council of University of Tokyo. He has authored numerous articles for prestigious business publications.

He now serves on several boards of Japanese corporations and also has advisory roles in both the private sector as well as the public sector including the Japanese government. He is Vice Chairman, Executive Director of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives since 2017.

Mr. Hodo joined Accenture in 1982 in Tokyo and became a partner in 1995. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Stanford University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
