Engagement purpose, methodology and response Objectives South Gloucestershire Council along with its partners are in the process of developing a masterplan for Yate, which will set out the long-term vision for improving the town. The purpose of this engagement period was to seek views and gather opinions from groups and organisations on the emerging vision and ideas for Yate, including opportunities around six key themes and three focus areas. The feedback will inform the draft Yate Town Improvement Masterplan, which will be put to consultation in early summer 2021. Methodology Process The public engagement process was supported by a dedicated webpage, which hosted all the engagement documents, an online feedback form, and an interactive map at yatefuture.com The engagement period ran between Monday 5th October and Monday 16th November 2020. As part of the engagement period, we welcomed comments made online and by letter, email and over the phone. The feedback methods were promoted within engagement materials available on the dedicated masterplan website, on posters around Yate, and on postcards delivered to residents of Yate.

  • Infrastructure Delivery Plan (March 2014)
South Gloucestershire Infrastructure Delivery Plan March 2014 Infrastructure Delivery Statement – Supporting Explanation Planning for infrastructure to meet existing deficiencies and future growth is a high priority for the Council. It therefore continues to work closely with its development partners, the West of England Partnership (4UAs) and other statutory and non-statutory organisations to identify and bring forward new and improve existing infrastructure. The information shown in the following matrix reflects the current position at the time of writing [March 2014] based on information available to the Council. The IDP is thus subject to continual update and review as new information becomes available. It is proposed therefore that it is a 'living document'. The IDP matrix should be read in conjunction with the supporting Evidence Appendices. The following tables give a broad indication of the planned provision, cost and need for infrastructure in South Gloucestershire (to 2027). It sets out planned infrastructure to meet existing deficiencies where information is available, plus that required to meet growth as set out in the South Gloucestershire Local Plan 2006 & Core Strategy (Dec 2013). It thereby indicates requirements for additional infrastructure which would not have been necessary but for the implementation of the proposed development. Where available, items contained within existing S106 agreements for major development sites (or agreements in advanced states of negotiation) have been reflected. For clarity these major sites are Emersons Green Science Park, Charlton Hayes, Harry Stoke, Emersons Green East, Park Farm –Thornbury, North Yate New Neighbourhood & University of the West of England. These sites may from time to time, be subject to change due to negotiation and viability testing instigated by the respective developers.

JOINT MEETING - WEST OF ENGLAND COMBINED AUTHORITY COMMITTEE & WEST OF ENGLAND JOINT COMMITTTEE - 9 OCTOBER 2020 Agenda item 6 – Items from the public Statements received (full details set out in following pages): 1. Alison Allan – Climate emergency action plan 2. Kay Hicks & Faye Dicker – Southern orbital study 3. David Redgewell – Transport and related issues 4. Christina Biggs - Transport / rail issues 5. Cllr Martin Fodor (Bristol City Council) – Climate emergency action plan 6. Dick Daniel – Investing in trams 7. Andy O’Brien / Martin Garrett – Integrating low carbon transport in the West of England 8. Cllr Sarah Warren (Bath & NE Somerset Council) – Climate Emergency Action Plan STATEMENT 1 – Alison Allan Dear Tim Bowles I am very pleased to see the WECA Climate Emergency Plan but it doesn't seem to have any dates by which things will happen which makes me feel it is not being taken that seriously. Local government is distinguishing itself across the country by providing vibrant, vital plans and only WECA has the retraining, transport and other crucial budgets in this area. We know that houses will need to be retrofitted and that we don't have the trained staff. In the meantime, thousands are being made redundant and need retraining. I appreciate the problem is so huge, you may be waiting for a national policy - but surely we must get started with such initiatives as soon as possible. Statement 2 - Kim Hicks / Faye Dicker on behalf of South Bristol Wrong Road Group Statement for the WECA meeting dated 9th October 2020 SUBJECT: Southern Orbital study. Specifically, in connection with the route from the A4 – Hicks Gate Roundabout to the A37 and onward to through Whitchurch Lane to the Hengrove Way Roundabout.

  • “Love the Community Spirit, Feels Like Home After Only 4 Years”
“Love the community spirit, feels like home after only 4 years” Parishes across the country are encouraged to consult with residents about what they would like improved in their locality. This plan has been developed from the comments and thoughts of the 726 households that replied to our questionnaire. 96% of those residents enjoy living in the parish. This project has been conducted by a volunteer group not the Parish Council. Description and Location The Medieval market town of Chipping Sodbury and the village of Old Sodbury make up the main settlements of Sodbury Parish. Sodbury Common, Kingrove Common and Colts Green Common are a significant part of the rural countryside. A few small to medium sized farms are interspersed with individually owned fields given over to horses, alpacas and poultry. The quarry to the north of Chipping Sodbury is large, with part of it still in operation. The parish lies 12 miles north-east of Bristol and 10 miles north of Bath. The much larger town of Yate is 1 mile to the west. The majority of the parish is in the Vale with the scarp slope and plateau of The Cotswolds forming the remainder. Sodbury is close to junction 18 of the M4 and within 10 miles of the M5 and Bristol Ring Road. The town itself is well served by ten bus routes. From Old Sodbury buses run to Chipping Sodbury, Yate and Bath. There are trains hourly from Yate railway station to Bristol, Bath, Gloucester and beyond. The population recorded in the 2011 census was 5,045.
