Purchasing character shoes for use in class time when joining us, rather than jazz shoes / other footwear is one way for parents to reduce the initial outlay on purchasing items of uniform. Many girls in our Blues / Purples / Blacks Performing Arts classes do, however, prefer to wear jazz shoes (or dance sneakers where allowed) throughout the year for comfort.

For Health & Safety reasons, students should never arrive for dance classes in their dance shoes. Footwear should always be changed in the cloakroom prior to and after a class taking place. This will ensure the studio ﬂoor can be kept as clean as possible for classes taking place each evening. Contemporary Dance classes (Tuesdays) Students should wear leggings / jogging bottoms and a close ﬁtting leotard or T-shirt. Please avoid wearing baggy clothing, as this distracts from the intention of the class to focus on body shaping and movement. Street & Freestyle Dance classes (Tuesdays) Our newly-introduced uniform for our Street & Freestyle Dance students really helps to set them apart. As with our Performing Arts classes, the Stage 84 Hoodie / Bag are optional, but all other elements of the uniform are compulsory. The Stage 84 Snapback Cap does not need to be worn for classes each week, but will be used from time to time throughout the year, particularly for performances in shows or videos we may capture.

They should be able to move freely and safely, as floor work may be required from time to time.

Students in our group Acting classes will require their own Stage 84 T-shirt (black), black trousers, black socks and plain black shoes for the majority of Trinity College London examinations and other occasional performances throughout the year. Please ensure your child’s t-shirt is ordered through the Stage 84 oﬃce, once they have begun classes with us. Singing classes (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays) Students may wear their own sensible choice of clothing for these classes. Smart-casual clothing should be worn for examination and festival performances.

For all our classes, students with long hair should ensure this is tied back and kept oﬀ the face. This will allow facial expression to be seen clearly during rehearsals / performances.

Students should avoid wearing jewellery to classes (such as necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings)

Welcome pack 01/2019 Stage 84 Uniform Items

Stage 84 t-shirts, hoodies and bags bearing our logo can be ordered either by contacting the Stage 84 oﬃce directly on 01274 611984, or via class secretaries at Monday and Thursday Performing Arts classes. Payment must be made at the time of ordering. Stage 84 t-shirts are often held in stock, but orders of hoodies and bags may take up to several weeks to arrive as they are individually embroidered.

The t-shirt our students wear for Performing Arts Age 7-8 £21.00 or Acting classes is black and features a red / gold embroidered logo. Age 9-11 £21.00 The t-shirt our students wear for Street & Freestyle Dance classes is red and Age 12-13 £21.00 features a black embroidered logo and a black ‘8-4’ vinyl print. Stage 84 Hoodies Size Price Stage 84 hoodies are available in a variety of sizes and feature Stage 84 Youth X Small (24”) £15.00 logo, red hood and zipper, as well as the student’s name embroidered in Youth Small (28”) £15.00 gold lettering on the rear of the garment. Youth Medium (30”) £15.00 The hoodie is predominantly black in order to blend with our existing uniform Youth Large (32”) £15.00 items such as our t-shirts. Many students like to wear their hoodie to enter Youth X Large (34”) £15.00 class, in order to keep warm during the cooler months of the year. Other items (Street & Freestyle Dance classes) Students in our Street & Freestyle Dance classes will require a Stage 84 Snapback cap for performance work. These are £10.50 (universal size). Boys in our Street & Freestyle Dance classes will require our black tracksuit bottoms sporting a red ’84’ street logo (Kids sizes are £16, Adult sizes are £17).
