To meet code requirements, DBMS students must present themselves in the approved uniform. All must be tucked in and the must be visible at all time. The administration shall make the final decision of what is considered approved. Item Colors by Grade

All students may wear the official DBMS Spirit Shirt any day of the week. Spirit Groups (cheer, dance, flagline, band) and Athletic Teams (track, basketball, football, golf, softball) are allowed to wear their or special spirit shirt on game days or other days approved by the principal.

Club shirts are only allowed on Club days and other days approved by the principal YDMS School

TOPS: White or navy polo-style knit shirts (short or long sleeve); white oxford -down shirts (short or long sleeve). Plain white, navy, black, or grey t-shirts or turtlenecks may be worn underneath these shirts. White middy with plaid ties may also be worn by girls. The white middy blouse may be worn untucked. All other shirts must be tucked in and the belt must be visible at all times. Logos on tops must not exceed 2x2 inch. Additionally, students may wear any approved YDMS spirit shirts.

BOTTOMS: Khaki or navy pants, shorts, or . Approved blue plaid #134-57 pleated skirts for girls. Pants must be uniform style and school appropriate. Solid colored tights may be worn under shorts and skirts of appropriate length. LENGTH: Skirts, skorts, and shorts must be no shorter than 4” above the of the knee. Pants must not drag the floor and should sit on the natural of the student. TIGHTNESS: Students must be able to pinch one inch on the side of all shorts, skirts, skorts, and pants. Excessively tight and stretch pants are not allowed.

BELTS: Students are required to wear a belt with any bottoms that have belt loops. Belt loops may not to be removed from clothing. Oversized belt buckles are not allowed.

SHOES AND SOCKS: Students may choose the style and color of shoes and socks. They should coordinate with the uniform and not attract undue attention. Flip-flops, backless shoes, and house shoes are not acceptable; shoes must have heel support for safety reasons. Additionally, all shoes must be tied or fastened.

OUTERWEAR: Waist-length and are acceptable at school. No trench coats or oversized coats will be allowed. If the jacket/ is not an approved solid color (navy, gray, white, or black) or an approved YDMS jacket, it must be removed after arriving at school. Blankets may not be worn to school in place of a jacket or coat.

Any plain navy, gray, white, or black sweater/sweatshirt/vest/ is acceptable if worn over an approved school shirt. Sweatshirts and hoodies with the YDMS logo may be worn. All other logos must not exceed 3x3 inches. No hoods may be worn in the building.

SCHOOL IDs: All students are required to wear a school ID each day. One school ID will be provided free of charge to each incoming student. Misplaced IDs may be replaced for $5.00 in the library. Temporary IDs may be purchased for $1.00 each morning in the discipline office. All IDs, including temporary IDs, must be worn on the outside of the student’s shirt and be visible at all times.

Uniforms must be worn to all school-sponsored activities (football games, basketball games, track meets, dances, etc.) unless otherwise approved and announced by the principal.

All uniforms must be worn in the manner meant by the manufacturer. This means that there will be no ripping or cutting of hems, cuffs, sleeves, or bodies of the coordinates. Simple hemming of sleeve, slack, or skirt length may be made, but be aware of the growth factor. Due to the rapid growth of middle school children, clothing worn in the fall may not be acceptable in the spring.

Hair should be clean and combed so as to permit full vision at all times. Headwear such as hair rollers, combs, brushes, , bandannas, hoods, and caps are prohibited. No chains or other heavy jewelry will be allowed.

No mode of student appearance will be considered proper for school that detracts from or disrupts the classroom and/ or the school decorum. The principal (or designee) of the school shall make the final decision of what is considered proper or improper appearance.

School Uniform Policy To meet dress code requirements, students must present themselves in the approved uniform coordinates purchased from selected vendors. The uniform MUST be correct in size in order to avoid sagging or inappropriate appearance. Pants must not drag on the floor in a manner that mutilates or destroys the pants by stepping or tripping on them. All students MUST wear a belt with items of clothing that have loops. The Caddo Parish School Board has established a dress code policy. The Parish guidelines must be adhered to as well as the requirements set at the school. Students will receive am Improper Uniform Referral each time they are not in uniform. Upon the third offense the student may be suspended. 1st and 4th Nine Weeks: Prek - 2nd Boys: Tops: Gold, White, or Royal Blue polo shirts with J.S. Other items: may not be worn by boys. Coats may be chosen by the parent. Style and color of the shoes may be chosen by the parent as the choice follows the Caddo Parish dress code rules.

Vendors: Sports World for skorts, jumpers, cardigans, vests J.S. Clark for all polo shirts, Shreveport gymnastics for cardigans, skorts or jumpers Walmart, Dollar Mania, or Target for all navy or khaki bottoms and white button down or Peter Pan tops

“Where Students Come First”

Queensborough Leadership Academy Uniform Policy 2020-2021  To meet dress code requirements, the students must present themselves in the approved regulation uniform coordinate or their exact equivalents. All uniforms must be worn in the manner displays by the manufacturer.  No mutilation of any kind including tearing, ripping, or cutting of the cuffs, sleeves, or body of any of the coordinates. The uniform must be correct in size to avoid any sagging or sloppy appearance. NO CARGO PANTS.  No visible manufacturer’s logos of any kind will be allowed on any uniform item including belts and socks. Ex. Nike sign, Polo, Champs. Tennis/athletic shoes are the only exception.  Hoods may not be worn on the head while inside the building. All jackets must meet CPSB requirements. Uniform shirts must be worn and tucked in under ALL jackets, , , and/or sweatshirts. No jacket, sweater, etc. will be allowed to be tied to the waist or around the neck or shoulders. In warm weather, the administration may require all outwear to be placed in the locker after arrival at school. Any deviation from this may require a physician’s note.  Plaid Items # 57 may be purchased at either Dollar Mania, Sports World or Shreveport Gymnastics. Our plaid is plaid #57. All other items are carried at Sports World, Shreveport Gymnastics, Burlington, J. C. Penney's, Sears, Wal‐Mart and K‐Mart and Jmart as well as Pierre Bossier Mall Uniform Store.  Pants, shorts, capris, and skorts for boys and girls should be "UNIFORM STYLE" only. These "UNIFORM" pieces can be purchased in the "UNIFORM" section of the above mentioned stores.  Cargo, carpenter, beige denim, low riders, hip hugger, bermuda and all other store brand/designer name brand shorts, skorts, and pants not part of our uniform.  Knit Polo style shirts need to be "UNIFORM" type shirts, free of eyelet, laces, ruffles, etc.  Spirit Day: Students can only wear their Queensborough Embroidered Sweatshirts or Hoodies and School T‐shirt.  The spirit shirts can be purchased at the school. School Uniforms:

School uniforms add a touch of professionalism to a child’s school day and provide the correct educational ethic that is the foundation of his/her academic and future career success. Children must wear their school uniform every day. Please assist us in upholding a high standard for our students in both appearance and contribution to the learning environment.

Note: The following items are not allowed: caps, head scarves, bandanas, shorts, , ( SPIRIT DAYS ONLY) sweat pants, mini-skirts, decorative , leggings THAT ARE NOT BLUE/WHITE/BLACK and MUST BE WORN UNDER A DRESS/SKIRT, open-toe shoes, tank or halter tops, t-shirts, inappropriate make-up, revealing or provocative clothing, tight-fitting or stretch pants, clothing that exposes one’s stomach and excessive jewelry.

The following School Uniform Policy applies to all students attending Sunset Acres.

2020-2021 SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY

Beginning August 10, 2020, students will be checked for proper uniform attire upon entering the campus. Any scholar out of dress code will not be allowed to enter class until they are properly dressed. To meet dress code requirements, scholars must present themselves in the approved, regulation uniform coordinates or their exact equivalents in the charts below. Additionally, in an effort to minimize opportunity of spreading COVIDE-19: ALL STUDENTS, STAFF, PARENTS, & COMMUNITY MEMBERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ENTRY ONTO OUR CAMPUS.

Students Uniform Policy

When our Cowboys and Cowgirls look good they feel good. When they feel good they are performing at their highest level!

To meet dress code requirements, the students must present themselves in the approved, regulation uniform coordinates or their exact equivalents.

Boy's and Girl’s Tops: Red Polo shirts, short or long sleeved White or Red Oxford shirts, short or long sleeved

Boy's Bottoms: Khaki or Navy pants, shorts (belt loops on pants and shorts) Belts - Brown or Black (No LARGE BELT BUCKLES)

Girl's Bottoms: Khaki or Navy pants, shorts, capris, skirts, or jumpers Khaki or Navy pants or shorts must have belt loops. NO leggings! *Plaid items may be purchased. Our plaid is #37.

Belts: Students MUST wear a belt unless the item does not require one. The belt must be a solid color: black, brown, plain or braided leather or canvas with a standard-size buckle. No decorations are allowed on the belt. The belt must fit into all the loops and remain buckled. No part of the belt may be hanging. The belt must be visible at all times.

Shoes: Style and color of shoes may be chosen by the student as long as they follow the Caddo Parish Dress Code Rules. No beach, pool or house shoes, which are made from rubber or foam rubber, are allowed. Sandals are not permitted. All shoes with laces, straps, or buckles must be tied or secured at all times.

Jacket Styles Allowed: Cardigan sweaters, windbreakers, jackets/coats (with or without hoods). Uniform shirts must be worn and tucked in under ALL jackets, windbreakers, sweaters, and or sweatshirts. No Jacket, sweater, etc. will be allowed to be tied to the waist or around the neck or shoulders.

**The above supplies should be available at home for on-line learning assignments as well as at school.** Do not bring all supplies at once. Bring them as requested or needed. Trapper Keepers come to school daily, along with paper, pencil/pen, and electronic device. Students are to dress in apparel that is modest, tasteful, and that does not interfere with or distract from the education process or the rights of others. Students and their clothing must be neat, clean, well groomed, and must meet the following guidelines:

• Face masks must be worn. • Attire must not be destructive to school property. • For health reasons, shoes must be worn. Hosiery is required with closed shoes. Shower shoes, slides, or house shoes are not to be worn. • Pants, shorts, or skirts must be worn at the waist. No “sagging” is permitted. Transparent or breakaway type pants are not permitted. Belts should be buckled at all times. • Headwear or hair rollers are prohibited in the building. • Body piercing jewelry cannot be worn except in the ears. • Shirts, sweaters, jackets, and other tops worn over leggings must be no shorter than four inches from the top of the knee. Skirt length should be no more than four inches from the top of the knee. • Sunglasses are prohibited in the building unless they are prescribed. • Bare midriffs, see-through garments, white type T-shirts, bare backs, halter-tops, tank tops, tube tops, or cutoffs cannot be worn. • There are to be no holes or tears that show skin through clothing on school campus. • The students may wear loose-fitting shorts that are no more than four inches from the top of the knee (front and back) when the student is standing. All shorts must be hemmed. Cutoff shorts, rolled-up jeans, pajama pants, sweats, athletic or spandex shorts cannot be worn. No other article of clothing can be worn beneath shorts for viewing. • Blouses must cover the midriff when arms are raised. • Sleeveless blouses, shirts, and dresses must extend from the neck to the edge of the shoulder. • Obscene, profane language or provocative pictures on clothing or jewelry are prohibited. • Satanic, cult, or gang related symbolism in any form is prohibited. • Drug related symbols in any form, including advertisements or promotion of alcohol or tobacco, are prohibited.

Principals, after consultation with their School Improvement Committee, have the discretion to adjust the dress code to fit unique situations as long as the decision does not interfere with the requirements of Title IX.

To meet dress code requirements, DBMS students must present themselves in the approved uniform. All shirts must be tucked in and the belt must be visible at all times. The administration shall make the final decision of what is considered approved.

The following reflects the school dress code that will be enforced during the 2020 - 21 school year. In accordance with the Uniform Dress Code Policy, All students of North Caddo Elementary/Middle School will be dressed in the following:

Due to implications of COVID-19 and directives from local, state & federal officials as well as in accordance with Caddo Parish Schools, North Caddo Elementary/Middle school has adopted a facemask policy for the 2020-21 school year.

Facemask Policy: ● Masks are required for grades 3 - 8 and are to be worn to the maximum extent possible, most importantly at entry and exit, and during transitions within the school building ● Students that arrive on campus without a mask will be provided one before entering the school. Facemasks must strictly adhere to school policy and dress code in compliance with the following standards: 1. Masks must be worn on the face to cover the mouth and the nose. 2. Bandanna patterned face masks are prohibited. 3. Mask colors and/or designs should not interfere with or distract from the educational process or rights of others. 4. Masks can have minimal designs but will not be allowed with inappropriate markings, graphics, images, political statements, names, or profanity. 5. A face shield may be worn in addition to their mask, but not in place of their mask. 6. Students that are not in compliance with the facemask policy will be subject to disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the district and the school.

Socks: (Any color) When worn, must be a matching pair.

Shoes: Shoes are to be worn at all times and they must be a matching pair; No rubber or foam swim (flip flops, Beach or Pool sandals), house shoes or crocs are not allowed.

Belts: Belts must be worn and visible at all times. Belts must be buckled and buckled to appropriate tightness to keep pants at waist line. No part of the belt should be hanging at any time.

Jackets: Students may wear jackets when weather dictates except for trench coats, dusters, knee length, jackets, or pullover outerwear of any kind, sweatshirts included. Jackets have to be true jackets that can be zipped and unzipped all the way down. School sponsored hoodies are allowed - school sponsored spirit shirts are only allowed. All outerwear must extend to the waist. Dress code will be strictly enforced daily. Students and their clothing should be neat, clean and well groomed. Pants/shorts/skirts must be hemmed with no splits or frazzled edges. There will be no mutilation including tearing, ripping, or cutting of hems, cuffs, sleeves or body of any coordinates. (No holes in pants except for waist and leg holes) No instance of student appearance will be considered proper for school that distracts from or disrupts the classroom and/or the school decorum. The principal of the school shall make the final decision of what is considered proper or improper appearance.

Additional Reminders

It is the responsibility of NCEMS to enforce those parameters of proper attire for students in order to provide an educational atmosphere conducive to learning. Items that detract from the instructional program or present a safety hazard are not allowed.

The following guidelines must also be followed:

● Accessories must not be dangerous to self or others. No heavy chains are allowed. This includes wallet chains. ● Sunglasses or non-prescribed are prohibited during the school day unless they are prescribed by a medical doctor. ● Obscene, profane language, tobacco, and alcohol advertisements or provocative pictures on clothing or jewelry are prohibited. ● No caps, hats, hoods or of any kind are allowed inside the building. This includes hoods on jackets and sweatshirts. Baseball caps are not allowed. No head covers are allowed of any type including scarves, bonnets, and headwraps. ● Pants, shorts, and skirts must be worn at the waist. NO SAGGING is permitted. NO OVERSIZING. The uniforms must be in the correct size to avoid sagging. Nothing should be showing under uniform shorts, such as boxers or leggings. Leggings are permitted in the Winter time with Dresses only. ● No disruptive colors or hairstyles will be worn. Wigs, and/or hairpieces are not acceptable except for medical reasons. No Satanic, cult, drug or gang related symbolism in any form is prohibited on the school campus. ● Hair color hairstyle ● Pierced earrings are acceptable. NO BELTS REQUIRED CLOTHES AND LABELS: Please label everything! Names must be clearly visible in all sweaters, backpacks, rest mats, jackets, , etc. An extra complete set of uniform clothes with underwear should be sent in a plastic bag (this will prevent you from being called to bring clean clothes if needed during the school day)

No Logos or Emblems allowed unless they are SCHOOL LOGOS (excluding tennis shoes). Plaid Items may be purchased at either Sports World, Dollar Mania or Shreveport Gymnastics. Our plaid is plaid #37. All other items are carried at Sports World, Shreveport Gymnastics, Burlington, Toys R Us, J. C. Penney’s, Sears, and Wal-Mart. Pants, shorts, capris, and skorts, jumpers for boys and girls are “UNIFORM STYLE” only. These “UNIFORM” pieces can be purchased in the “UNIFORM” section of the above mentioned stores. Cargo, carpenter, denim, low riders, hip hugger, bermuda and all other store brand/designer name brand shorts, skorts, and pants are not part of our uniform. Knit pullovers need to be “UNIFORM” type shirts, free of eyelet, laces, ruffles, etc. Jeans are only allowed on designated “special” days. ALLOWED DAILY: University School T-shirt/Spirit shirt with uniform navy/khaki, shorts, skorts, or pants. FIELD TRIPS: Attire will be decided by class/grade level on an individual basis. PK & K students have special field trip t-shirts. SCOUTS: All scouts will be allowed to wear their FULL uniform (top and bottoms) on meeting days. EXTRACURRICULARS: Clubs, sports team participants, and cheerleaders will be allowed to wear Club T-shirt with uniform navy/khaki shorts or pants on designated days. UNIFORM POLICY To meet dress code requirements, YDMS students must present themselves in the approved uniform:

TOPS: White or navy polo-style knit shirts (short or long sleeve); white oxford button-down shirts (short or long sleeve). Plain white, navy, black, or grey t-shirts or turtlenecks may be worn underneath these shirts. White middy blouses with plaid ties may also be worn by girls. The white middy blouse may be worn untucked. All other shirts must be tucked in and the belt must be visible at all times. Logos on tops must not exceed 2x2 inch. Additionally, students may wear any approved YDMS spirit shirts.

BOTTOMS: Khaki or navy pants, shorts, skorts or skirts. Approved blue plaid #134-57 pleated skirts for girls. Pants must be uniform style and school appropriate. Solid colored tights may be worn under shorts and skirts of appropriate length.

LENGTH: Skirts, skorts, and shorts must be no shorter than 4” above the top of the knee. Pants must not drag the floor and should sit on the natural waist of the student.

TIGHTNESS: Students must be able to pinch one inch on the side of all shorts, skirts, skorts, and pants. Excessively tight and stretch pants are not allowed.

BELTS: Students are required to wear a belt with any bottoms that have belt loops. Belt loops may not to be removed from clothing. Oversized belt buckles are not allowed.

SHOES AND SOCKS: Students may choose the style and color of shoes and socks. They should coordinate with the uniform and not attract undue attention. Flip-flops, backless shoes, and house shoes are not acceptable; shoes must have heel support for safety reasons. Additionally, all shoes must be tied or fastened.

OUTERWEAR: Waist-length jackets and coats are acceptable at school. No trench coats or oversized coats will be allowed. If the jacket/coat is not an approved solid color (navy, gray, white, or black) or an approved YDMS jacket, it must be removed after arriving at school. Blankets may not be worn to school in place of a jacket or coat.

Any plain navy, gray, white, or black sweater/sweatshirt/vest/hoodie is acceptable if worn over an approved school shirt. Sweatshirts and hoodies with the YDMS logo may be worn. All other logos must not exceed 3x3 inches. No hoods may be worn in the building.

SCHOOL IDs: All students are required to wear a school ID each day. One school ID will be provided free of charge to each incoming student. Misplaced IDs may be replaced for $5.00 in the library. Temporary IDs may be purchased for $1.00 each morning in the discipline office. All IDs, including temporary IDs, must be worn on the outside of the student’s shirt and be visible at all times.

Uniforms must be worn to all school-sponsored activities (football games, basketball games, track meets, dances, etc.) unless otherwise approved and announced by the principal.

Spirit Groups (Pep Squad, Cheerleaders, Dance line) will be allowed to wear their uniforms on game days and other days approved by the principal.

All uniforms must be worn in the manner meant by the manufacturer. This means that there will be no ripping or cutting of hems, cuffs, sleeves, or bodies of the coordinates. Simple hemming of sleeve, slack, or skirt length may be made, but be aware of the growth factor. Due to the rapid growth of middle school children, clothing worn in the fall may not be acceptable in the spring.

Hair should be clean and combed so as to permit full vision at all times. Headwear such as hair rollers, combs, brushes, sunglasses, bandannas, hoods, and caps are prohibited. No chains or other heavy jewelry will be allowed.

No mode of student appearance will be considered proper for school that detracts from or disrupts the classroom and/ or the school decorum. The principal (or designee) of the school shall make the final decision of what is considered proper or improper appearance. Piercings in the ears are the ONLY acceptable piercing for students. No other visible piercings will be allowed.

FACE MASKS: In accordance with the state guidelines, students 3rd grade and above will wear masks to the maximum extent possible, most importantly at entry and exit, and during transitions within the school building. Face masks must be school appropriate. Mask colors and/or designs should not interfere with or distract from the educational process or rights of others. Masks with obscene/profane language, provocative pictures, Satanic, cult, gang-related symbolism, drug-related symbols in any form including advertisements or promotion of alcohol or tobacco, or political statements shall be prohibited on school campuses. Administration will make the final decision about whether a mask is approved or not. All masks must be worn as designed to cover the mouth and nose area. A face shield may be worn in addition to their mask, but not in place of their mask.

Failure to comply with the YDMS dress code will result in school discipline.
