RESULTS FROM YESTERDAY

GIRLS BASKETBALL - VARSITY Alexandria 67 St Cloud Tech 30 The Lady Cards hit the court on Parents Night and clamped down on the Tigers holding them to just 9 second half points as we cruised to a solid TEAM CLC and Section win. The Cards used a hard nosed defense and executed unselshly to set each other up for good looks they got thru our the night. The scoring for the Cardinals was paced by Jaya Hatlestad with 18, Mataya Hoelscher 14, and then the balance took over with 9 other Cardinals hitting the score column. Lilly Horn and Cate Bloom both with solid performances all over the court and had 7. Myah Kremer continues to kick down the defense and had 5, Maggie Anderson and Morgan Jones each 4, Addison Boesl 3, Hannah Boraas and Chloe Scholl each 2, and Lilly Thul 1. We look forward to hosting Third ranked Class 4A Eden Prairie in a 11:15 matinee on Saturday. Wings Up! Earned not given... #whatever it takes The Cardinal Girls Basketball Coaching Staff and players would also like to have a huge shout out to everyone at AAHS that makes it possible for us to play. Everyone is pitching in making sure protocols are met as well as learning new roles to make our events happen for our athletes. Custodial staff has a heavy burden and work tirelessly for new setup procedures, Cindy Montbriand on the ocial book, Mike Empting and Meghan Orgemen working the clock, Russ Hinrichs on the Public Address making it very special. John schmidt, our game manager for answering questions around every corner. Our ocials in the game for their sacrices. Last but not least out Activities Staff, Ben Kvidt and Sheree Saxton. Sheree for her many roles and attention to great details to accommodate everything and everyone. The many extra hours put in to ensure a safe and rst class event. GIRLS BASKETBALL - JV Alexandria 68 St. Cloud Tech 25 The Alexandria Cardinals JV Girls Basketball team had their home opener Thursday night as they played host to the Tech Tigers. Alexandria was able to sharpen their teeth and pounce on the Tigers defensively. Alexandria's depth and speed had the Tech Tigers on the verge of calling Big Cat Rescue for help. Alexandria's balanced scoring attack came from buckets in both the half court and in transition. In the end the Cardinals were the true Tiger Kings as they came away with a 68-25 victory.

GIRLS BASKETBALL - JV2 Alexandria - 55 St. Cloud Tech - 27 The lady cards put the tigers in a cage on Thursday night. The girls have improved from their rst game against Willmar and are looking to continue improving tomorrow as they face Eden Prairie at home. With this win, we have improved to 2-0 on the season.

GIRLS HOCKEY - JV Alexandria 2 Fergus Falls 1 The Lady Cards hit the road Thursday night taking on the Otters of Fergus Falls. From the drop of the puck to the nal buzzer our girls dominated all three zones out shooting the Otter’s on the night 43-12 and coming away with a 2-1 victory. Standing tall for the Otter’s was their goalie having turned away 42 shots on the night. Junior winger Lauren Rebrovich was the lone Lady Card that was able to get the puck to cross the goal line having 2 on the night with the game winner coming off a beautiful pass from Senior center Maya Klimek who played a very strong game. Defensively, the Lady Cards were led by Elise Patience who played a very aggressive and smart game and also contributed with a helper on the game winning goal. Next up for the Cards will be a home game against the Roseau Rams this Saturday at 1pm.

BOYS SWIMMING AND DIVING Alexandria 107 and Bemidji 74 The Alexandria Cardinals swimming and diving began their 2021 season with a win over Bemidji, winning every event of the meet. Double winners were Torrey Olson Rodel in the 200 IM and the 500 freestyle, and Logan Tung in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Nicolas Welle met the state qualifying time standard in the 100 freestyle, Anthony Hoyt and Tung were tenths of a second off from the state qualifying time standard in the 200 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. Freshman Eric Peterson won the 100 backstroke, Caden Kavanagh won the diving competition, Thomas Williams won the 100 buttery, an alternative event for him. The meet began with a rst and third place nish in the 200 medley relay with the teams of Thomas Williams, Logan Tung, Ethan Johnson, and Torrey Olson Rodel. Third place was the team of Mark Meece, Matt Mayer, Eric Peterson, and Zach Timm. Alexandria nished in rst, second, and fourth place in the 200 freestyle with great swims by Anthony Hoyt, Carter Holm and Erik Reineke. The 200 IM brought another 1-2 nish from Torrey Olson Rodel and Thomas Williams. Mark Meece nished in fth place. Logan Tung easily won the 50 freestyle with a lifetime best time coming from Andrew Crowser and a fourth place nish. In diving, Caden Kavanagh won the event, followed by Aidan Staples and Kyler Kavanagh making his varsity debut to nish in fth place. Thomas Williams and Ethan Johnson went 1-2 in the buttery with Eric Peterson in fth. Matt Mayer won the JV 100 freestyle with Eli Biggers in second and Axel Knudsen to nish the 1-2-3 sweep. Nicolas WElle led the 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 freestyle, followed by Anthony Hoyt and Carter Holm. Torrey Olson Rodel and Erik Reineke went 1- 2 in the 500 freestyle, followed by Cooper Running in fourth place. Alex again went 1-3 in the 200 freestyle relay with the team of Carter Holm, Logan Tung, Anthony Hoyt and Nicolas Welle with the win and the team of Ethan Johnson, Zach Timm, Erik Reineke and Mark Meece in third place. The 100 backstroke was won by freshman Eric Peterson, followed by fellow freshman Mark Meece in fourth and Axel Knudsen in fth. Logan Tung, Nicolas Welle, and Ethan Johnson went 1-2-3 in the 100 breaststroke. Alexandria's 400 freestyle relay team nished out the meet. The team of Carter Holm, Torrey Olson Rodel, Anthony Hoyt, and Nicolas Welle came away with the win. GYMNASTICS Alexandria 132.425 Sartell 138.525 The cardinals had their rst gymnastics meet last night against Sartell. The nal score was Alexandria- 132.425 and Sartell- 138.525. Our best event was Beam-Junior Ailynn Fettig placed 1st on beam with a score of 8.65. Freshmen Sara Eddy placed 2nd-8.35 Junior Hailie Kent placed 4th-8.2. Sophomore Amaya Hughes tied for 5th-8.1 Our team had a beam score of 33.3. On the Floor- Ailynn Fettig placed 4th-8.85. Amaya Hughes tied for 5th-8.7. On Bars- Ailynn Fettig placed 4th with a score of 8.625 and 5th on Vault-8.875. All Around-Ailynn Fettig-placed 2nd-35.0, Kelsey Fletcher-placed 4th-32.1, Hailie Kent placed 5th-29.8 Our next meet is tonight in Moorhead at 6pm. GO CARDS!

BOYS HOCKEY - VARSITY The Cardinals came out to a fast start scoring 6 goals in the rst period from 5 different players. Brycen Berg got the Cardinals going with a great faceoff play from Josiah Gronholz. Jacob Partington, Joe Lamski, Peyton Doty, and Cole Walters all scoring in the rst period and Brycen Berg scoring again for his 2nd of the game. Tyler Kludt added to the Cardinals lead in the second period with assists going to Grant Rebrovich and Joe Lamski. Sauk Rapids rebounded later in the 2nd period scoring 3 unanswered goals to cut the lead to 7-3. The Cardinals put the pedal down in the third period with 3 goals coming from Jack Breitzman, Grant Rebrovich and Zaven Noetzelman for his rst career high school goal. The Cardinals had 16 different players contribute to the 10 goal game, defeating Sauk Rapids 10 – 4. Teagan Pfeffer was in goal stopping 19 of 23 shots he faced.

BOYS HOCKEY - JV Alexandria 4 Sauk Rapids Rice 0 Gabe Evink got the start in the net against Sauk Rapids Rice stopping all 10 shots he faced gaining the shutout victory 4 to 0. Riley Wagner got the Cardinals on the board in the rst period with the primary assist going to Lake Hagen-Koelbl. Late in the second period Brayden Steidl corralled a loose puck and scored an unassisted goal to put the Cardinals up 2-0. Shortly later Tripp Shatek deposited the puck in the net after a nice passing play from Henry Ramstorf and Keegan Lucy. The nal goal of the game came from Cole Haabala with an assist from Brayden Steidl. It was a face paced game where the Cardinals dominated for large stretches of the game. The Junior Varsity’s next game is Tuesday night at Rocori.

You will need to "checkout" the rst ticket and go back in to purchase the 2nd ticket. We are working on this glitch, but for now this will work. Thank you for your patience as we launch this new system.

CONFERENCE HOME and AWAY event tickets will be purchased on our website NON-CONFERENCE Away event tickets may need to be purchased on the host school site. - call the activity oce at AAHS if you have questions

Don't forget to pick up your awards if you have not already done so. Letter Winners - your commemorative DVD of the 2020 season is available in the oce for pick up as well.

ACTIVITIES TRANSFER BUS INFORMATION

Swimmers and Nordic Ski students: Bus #31 will transport AAHS students in Boys Swim and Nordic Ski that need a ride to DMS after school. Bus #31 parks in slot 5 and departs AAHS promptly at 3:23pm. Gymnasts: may take Bus #51 to the Gymnastics Center. Bus #51 parks in slot 11 and also departs AAHS at 3:23pm Wrestlers: Bus #17 will pick up at DMS, then load at AAHS slot 8. Bus #17 departs AAHS at 3:23pm

ACTIVITIES REGISTRATION Activities Registration The online registration program will allow you access to all registration requirements in one spot. If you have not used the districts online payment module in the past for activities, chromebooks, food service, parking permits, etc. If you haven't already done so, you will need to CREATE AN ACCOUNT prior to registering. Registration needs to be complete prior to student’s being able to participate. Reminder that students must have a physical every three years in order to participate. (a four year allowance has been granted this school year due to COVID-19) The online registration module will not allow you to proceed if a physical exam is needed.
