The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a federal school meal funding option that allows high poverty schools to provide access to free breakfast and lunch to all students. The following schools are eligible, or near eligible, to elect CEP for the 2018-2019 school year.

Notes:

To qualify for CEP, a school or group of schools must have an Identified Student Percentage (ISP) of at least 40%. The ISP is the number of low-income students that are in foster care or Head Start, are homeless, migrant or living in households that receive SNAP (food stamps) or TANF cash assistance. Schools can elect CEP individually or in groups and grouping allows for schools with an ISP below 40% to participate.

School districts that elect CEP are reimbursed by the federal government for the school meals they serve. To determine the percentage of meals reimbursed at the highest “free meal” rate, multiply the ISP by 1.6.
