03. 07. 2006 “STAR-STUDDED TURKCELL NIGHTS” BEGIN ON 8 JULY STAR PARADE IN BODRUM The fourth “Star-Studded Turkcell Nights” at Bodrum’s Antique Theater this year will bring local and international performers together with music lovers throughout the months of July and August. The “Star-Studded Turkcell Nights” to take place at Bodrum’s Antique Theater under Turkcell’s sponsorship will be an experience art lovers will long remember. Many artists from Aida Gomez to Monica Molina, from Haris Alexiou to Cesaria Evora, from Sezen Aksu to Ajda Pekkan, and from Sertab Erener to Bülent Ortaçgil will come together with their fans during the “Star-Studded Turkcell Nights.” The Antique Theater in Bodrum became the venue for the “Star-Studded Turkcell Nights” in 2003 when it was opened to art lovers following the completion of restoration work. This summer the “Star-Studded Turkcell Nights” will commence with the Cesaria Evora concert on 8 July 2006. Organized by the Besiktas Culture Center (BKM), the “Star-Studded Turkcell Nights” will continue with Hüsnü Senlendirici - Sertab Erener the night of Saturday, 15 July; Ferhat Göçer and Sunay Akin the night of Saturday, 22 July; Sezen Aksu the night of Friday, 28 July; Haris Alexiou the night of Saturday, 29 July; Ajda Pekkan the night of Friday, 4 August; Carmen starring Aida Gomez the night of Friday, 11 August; Zuhal Olcay - Bülent Ortaçgil the night of Saturday, 12 August; and Kiraç - Funda Arar the night of Friday, 18 August. The “Star-Studded Nights” will come to a close the night of Saturday, 19 August with the concert of Monica Molina whose last album “A Vida” (To Life) was a great success. The project launched with the support of Turkcell and Ericsson Türkiye in 1998 to promote our social values and to preserve and reclaim our heritage of culture and art started off with the restoration of the Myndos Gate and went on with the repair of the Ottoman Castle in the harbor. The restoration of the Antique Theater of Bodrum, the third leg of the project, was initiated in June 2002. One of the most remarkable remnants from the Hellenic period, the Antique Theater of Bodrum now hosts various events with its seating capacity of 3,000.
