COVER LETTER

Well Hello!

I know what you’re thinking- how are you going to find the right person out of all the qualified candidates that have applied? When will you know when the right person is it? Well I’d like you to think that it’s possible that the magic just happened- that right now, with this letter you’re search may be complete.

I have to do something to stand out, and if it’s working so far than please read on and maybe it will lead to our first success together. With a little luck, it may just be that I am actually “the guy”.

I recently completed a 15-year career of running my own successful company. In a strange way though, this makes a resume tough to do- I’ve had one job for a long time where I performed at a high level in many different areas and it can be a little much for me to go on about them all. But of course now I am going to do precisely that.

Potentially I am qualified for many different positions and this is very probably the one time in my life I will have the opportunity to explore those possibilities. Why? Because I am loyal by nature- that’s how I lead my business for 15 years, and I want to find a team, and a mission I can dedicate myself to. I’m looking for somewhere to do the best work of my life. I’m looking for the right fit for a long and successful career with great people at the right company, and that makes a wide search so worthwhile. Loyalty, dedication, great people, great work, equals a great company. This is a formula for success I really believe in and am committed to following. I have conviction.

My foundation has always been my passion for creative and persuasive storytelling proven by it’s effective success, and I have had to master multiple disciplines to run a company and guide it through good times as well as rough water. I have a big picture perspective, I can lead, and I can manage to success.

My career began as an artist- a designer, an animator, an editor. I know the tools and how things are done and have performed in all those capacities on a long list of projects long before I began to produce and direct. I believe you will find me to be skilled, experienced, knowledgeable and proven.

Now I’d like to handle the gorilla in the room head on. You may be asking so what happened? Why not continue on with the business I worked for years building?

The short answer is pretty simple- between the beginning of our young family (2 beautiful babies since 2008) and the extended final care of a terminally ill loved one (my mom), for the first time life, love and family simply trumped work and entrepreneurship in a once in a lifetime perfect storm. What was truly important at that moment was crystal clear, and the time was right to step away and do the right thing- a choice I was proud to make.

But now things have leveled out, I’m back, ready and able to work. I’ve stayed busy with some rewarding transitional projects and know now that I’m really ready to be a part of something bigger, more complex and ultimately right for the next chapter. My perspective on life is different, (I’d say better actually) and I’m ready to laser my focus into making great creative work, inspiring new talent, collaborating with new people and being influenced by new ideas and experiences.

Hopefully this letter has done it’s job and I’ve peaked your interest enough to review the rest of my resume. I would love to meet in person to talk about what I can do to contribute to the terrific things happening there.

Thank you so much for your time, consideration and the opportunity to introduce myself.

All the best-
