En un pequeño pueblo una panda de niños ocupa sus vacaciones con juegos que despiertan su imaginación y creatividad en compañía de Duarte, un exprofe, pintor y bohemio. El piso alto de la casa está lleno de cuadros. Pumariño les indica a los niños que Duarte está dentro de una de aquellas pinturas y les invita a entrar en ella. Los niños deciden adentrarse en ese mundo desconocido en busca de su amigo perdido.

In a small village a gang of children spend their holidays with games which fire their imaginations and creativity along with Duarte, an ex- teacher, painter and bohemian. The painter disappears inexplicably and for the children the key to the mystery of his whereabouts seems to lie with Pumariño, an outcast in the village. They follow him to a house on the outskirts of the small village. The top floor of the house is full of pictures. Pumariño shows the children that Duarte is inside one of these pictures and he invites them to enter into it. The children decide to go into this unknown world in search of their lost friend.

Tras la desaparición de la Unión Soviética, su flota pesquera – barcos y tripulación - quedó abandonada en distintos puertos de todo el mundo. Este es el punto de arranque de Anclados, que a lo largo de tres años, refleja la vida cotidiana de 5 marineros que optaron por quedarse y rehacer sus vidas en un muelle olvidado en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. “Anclados” trata sobre la caída de un imperio y la pérdida de valores y derechos ganados por una revolución, ahora desprestigiada. Habla también sobre el ser humano. Sobre las decisiones que tomamos y cómo decidimos vivir. Cada hombre guarda la libertad interior de conservar la dignidad y seguir sintiéndose un ser humano.

When the Soviet Union broke up its fishing fleet, both the boats and the crews were abandoned in different ports around the world. This is the starting point for “Anchored” which shows the day-to-day life over a period of 3 years of 5 sailors who decided to stay and rebuild their lives on a forgotten quay in Las Palmas of Gran Canarias. “Anchored” deals with the fall of an empire and the loss of values and rights won by a revolution which is now discredited. It also considers the people themselves, the decisions we take and how we decide to live. Within each person there is still the freedom to uphold personal dignity and feel like a human being.

Un guía de alta montaña nepalí, Dharma, perdió los dedos de ambas manos y de un pie ascendiendo al Everest, haciendo de sherpa a un hombre de 76 años en una expedición organizada para arrebatar el Record Guinees a un japonés que lo tenía en aquel momento. Una familia de Gerona, antiguos clientes del guía, lo trajeron a su casa junto a su esposa, Asmita. Durante cuatro meses hicieron lo imposible para poder realizar las operaciones médicas necesarias, que permitiesen a Dharma volver a ser autosuficiente. Dieron charlas en centros excursionistas para recaptar dinero, y conseguir un futuro para esta familia nepalí. Ahora Dharma trabaja otra vez de guía, aunque no realiza expediciones. Asmita, a diferencia de Dharma, prácticamente no había tenido contacto con los occidentales. Desconocía nuestras costumbres, los electrodomésticos, el mar, la nieve, la diversión...; en definitiva, la calidad de vida y el confort que fuera más allá de la mera supervivencia.

Dharma, a Nepalese mountain guide, lost the fingers on both hands and the toes on one foot climbing Everest, as a Sherpa to a 76 year-old man on an expedition organized to take the Guiness Record from a Japanese man who held it at the time. A family from Gerona, who had been the guide’s clients, brought him and his wife Asmita, to their house. They gave talks in excursion centres to collect money in order to secure the future for this Nepalese family. Now Dharma is working as a guide again, although he doesn’t go on expeditions. Unlike Dharma, Asmita had had almost no contact with westerners. She knew nothing of our customs, electrical appliances, the sea, the snow, fun…; basically the quality of life and comfort which goes beyond mere survival.

El 4 de abril de 2010 una parte de la familia Quintanilla Atauri fue encontrada muerta en su casa de campo. La policía descubrió la existencia de cintas de vídeo con 37 horas de grabación. Aquel mismo mes de abril, dos productores vieron la oportunidad de crear una película a partir del material encontrado. Ellos se hicieron cargo de los derechos al convencer al padre de los niños asesinados y acordar que omitirían ciertas partes que podían ensuciar la memoria de su familia. Atrocious muestra las imágenes reales de todo lo que pasó. Una película perturbadoramente real con un escenario absolutamente conocido.

On April 4th, 2010, part of the Quintanilla Atauri family was found dead in their country house. The police discovered the existence of videotapes with 37 hours of recordings. That same month of April, two producers saw the opportunity to create a movie based on the material found there. They got the rights to it by convincing the murdered children’s father and agreeing to leave out certain parts that could tarnish the family’s memory. Perla waits excitedly for Fabio to come out of prison. She’s been © Ministerio de Cultura dreaming for two years about her boyfriend’s release and the idea of setting up a family. Al igual que en un Mandala, una vez construida una estructura cardinal, ésta se disuelve. Gran parte de la iconografía Budista está basada en el color y la idea de circularidad. La filosofía Budista tiene una cualidad de movimiento cinético y ritualidad que podría hermanarse con el Cine. “Blow Horn” es un viaje a la India que contiene la esencia espiritual del budismo y que acaba en abstracción.
