Fatcat-Usa.Com Key Points FatCat Records’ 130701 imprint has played a pioneering role in the development of today’s vibrant post-classical scene. It has introduced the likes of Max Richter, Haus- chka, and Set Fire To Flames, and has been home to Sylvain Chauveau, Jóhann Jóhannsson, and Dustin O’Halloran. With its fifteenth anniversary approaching on 13th July 2016, 130701 is celebrating with the release of a compilation featuring eleven exclusive tracks - one from each of the artists to have graced the roster over the past fifteen years, plus three new signings - Ian William Craig, Olivier Alary and Resina - whose first 130701 albums are each set to appear this year. Curated and compiled by 130701’s David Howell, none of these tracks has previously seen a physi- cal release. Opening with the sumptuous textural shimmer of Olivier Alary’s ‘Yangtze’, the album moves through the poignant, prepared-piano and string sweep of Dustin O’Halloran’s ‘Constreaux No. 2’ and the wobbly solo piano lyricism of Dmitry Evgrafov’s ‘Anthem’ before taking a somewhat darker, more intense turn on Set Fire To Flames epic ‘Barn Levitate’. A ten-minute track featuring members of Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Fly Pan Am, and others from the hyper-creative Montreal community of the early ‘00s, it is the first new SFTF material to appear since their sophomore album ‘Telegraphs In Release date: 8/05/16 Negative’ came out way back in 2003. Another new signing, Polish cellist/ composer File Under: Classical Resina’s track ‘June’ follows organically on from here, her solo cello swelling and Territory Restrictions: slowly flowering through the frost. Only available to North America, South America Hauschka’s ‘Quiet’ dates from the Ferndorf’ album period (2008) and sees the German artist paring down to just his trademark prepared piano on this beautifully lyrical little track. French artists Sylvain Chauveau and Emile Levienaise-Farrouch are paired beside one another - the former’s ‘NB’ follows on in a shimmer of suspended 6 00116 13171 3 guitar delay before Levienaise-Farrouch’s ‘Alethia’ dances through an echoing web of FAT1317 2xLP piano. December 5, 2019 For Immediate Release Shopping Announce New Album, All Or Nothing, Out February 7th On FatCat Records, And North American Tour Watch Video For Lead Single, “Initiative” (Photo Credit: Matt Draper) Shopping announce All Or Nothing, their new album out February 7th on FatCat Records, and present the video for lead single, “Initiative.” Following 2018’s The Official Body, the songs that make up All or Nothing are the band’s boldest yet; confident, elastic, streamlined grooves that crackle with energy and intention. The trio’s vision – deeply queer; political by default – place them in a radical lineage of dance, a continuum connecting disco and post-punk to Chicago house and EDM. Storming lead single “Initiative” was written in a Seattle basement. Like the album as a whole, the track thrums with purpose, marking a confident new phase for the band. Referencing governments who shirk responsibilities but place the blame on individuals, the song has a frustrated groove that’s propelling, motivated by necessity to keep going against the grain. The accompanying video, directed by Jack Barraclough, is brightly-stylized, and stars the band themselves. Watch Video For “Initiative” - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Owoq6vVkUs Though the band members now live countries away from each other - guitarist Rachel Aggs (Trash Kit, Sacred Paws) and drummer Andrew Milk (Current Affairs) in Glasgow and Billy Easter (Wet Dog) in Los Angeles - the trio returned to London for an intense, 10-day period. For All Or Nothing, they teamed up with US-based producer Davey Warsop to record, shifting their stripped-down ethos to one that took a leap into pop production.

  • Is an Experimental Icelandic Pop Group Whose
múm (pronounced [mum], “moom”)** is an experimental Icelandic pop group whose music is characterized by soft vocals, eccentric beats and colorful effects, and a variety of traditional and unconventional instruments múm have never walked the well trodden path. Since the the beginning of múm, they have always gone their own way, the way their creativeness and their music has been excessively difficult to pin down and anticipate. Originally a duo, the band has expanded and contracted like a beating mammalian heart in the 12 years of being and has counted 15 - 20 people along the way. The band was formed in 1997 by original members Gunnar Örn Tynes and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason. Their first release was a split 10" with the girl-band Spúnk and saw light in the summer of '98. They were joined a year later by twin sisters Gyða and Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir and released two albums as quartet. Following a number of collaborative projects, the group’s celebrated debut album Yesterday Was Dramatic, Today Is OK (reissued by Morr Music in October 2005) gained a wealth of glowing press and widespread praise. A remix project, Please Smile My Noise Bleed, was also released on the Morr Music label in November 2001. In 2002, after the FatCat Records release of Finally We Are No One and the extensive first world tour, Gyða left the band to return to her studies in Reykjavík. Shortly after, third sister Ásthildur Valtýsdóttir joined for singing duties temporarily and Serena Tideman replaced Gyda on cello, for a single European tour. The band's third album, Summer Make Good, a darker and foggier nautically-themed work, was released in May 2004, flanked by two singles, “Nightly Cares” and “Dusk Log”.

We denken hierbij aan o.a.
