UCA brings living and learning together through a Residential College system that is unlike anywhere else in Arkansas. We’re the only four-year public university in the state to make this experience available to all incoming freshmen. Our five Residential Colleges allow you to take UCA Core classes where you live, which is a huge advantage on rainy days and early mornings. Each Residential College offers a supportive community of like-minded students and an atmosphere that results in higher grades and a greater likelihood of returning for the next semester. Your goal is to graduate, and these living and learning communities will help you reach that goal! Our student staff includes a resident coordinator, resident assistants, peer coaches and mentors who are trained to guide you through your first year. We also have faculty in residence: professors who live in the Residential College with their families and pets.

Which Residential College is right for you? Each Residential College has unique themes and special traditions, and each is associated with an academic college. Whether you are majoring or just interested in the arts or communication, science or technology, education or leadership, health and wellness, or business and innovation, you will be welcomed by faculty who teach in your areas of interest. Applying for housing at UCA is easy! Simply follow the steps listed below to apply for housing and pay the deposit. Be sure tp apply before Jan. 15 to participate in the room selection process.

Safety and Security Student Health We provide you with a safe environment in which to live and learn. UCA has several health services to give students peace of mind. Intramurals (residence hall division) The purpose of the Intramural sports program is to provide an opportunity for every student at UCA to participate in some type of competitive sports activity as regularly as the student’s interest, ability and time will permit. Intramural activities range from traditional sports such as flag football, basketball and slow-pitch softball to more nontraditional sports such as table tennis, badminton and track.

Resident Housing Association (RHA) The Resident Housing Association at UCA is a chapter of the world’s largest student-run organization. It is the voice for all students who live on campus. RHA facilitates campus-wide events that promote inclusiveness and fun. The organization offers leadership opportunities through regional, national and international conferences each year. RHA is about making new friends, getting involved on campus and gaining valuable resumé experience.

Students with disabilities may need housing and/or dining accommodations due to the impact of their disability. The Disability Resource Center (DRC) collaborates with Housing and Residence Life to meet the on-campus housing needs of students with disabilities.

Housing and dining accommodations must be reasonable, relate to the impact of the disability and address functional limitations. DRC, Housing and Residence Life and Dining Services work closely together to ensure accommodation needs are met for students with disabilities living on campus. In order to begin the process of requesting a housing/dining accommodation, the following procedures have been established:

• Submit a new student registration online with the DRC office. When filling out the online registration, please be detailed in your request by completing the additional note or comment section at the bottom of the application. Please detail disability-related limitations and accommodations needed. • Obtain documentation from a qualified health or other provider in support of your requested accommodation. Documentation should include the diagnosed disability and functional limitations, along with recommended accommodations. Note: If the request is for an emotional support animal, see further details at uca.edu/disability. • Submit both the online application and documentation to the DRC. You can upload documentation to your registration application online. If you do not have documentation at the time of online application, you can email, fax, mail or drop it off in person to the DRC.
