• Develop a community vision for transportation in the study area (primarily Florida Ave/Tampa Street an adjacent corridors) • Short-term fixes (safety and operations) • Provide a common voice for the Heights community to inform regional transportation planning activities • Implementation plan: Select a preferred concept to move forward for design and construction of a corridor project

HEIGHTS MOBILITY STUDY What is the Heights Mobility Study?
An effort to identify immediate improvements to the Florida Avenue and Tampa Street/Highland Avenue corridor between downtown Tampa and the Hillsborough River. (Phase 1)
Additionally, the Study will form a longer-term vision for the corridor and an implementation plan for achieving that vision. (Phase 2)

• Public Engagement • Develop a clear understanding of existing community character and mobility strategies to support existing community needs • Build a consensus around a vision and goals for the Florida Avenue/Tampa Street corridor (study corridor) • Short-Term Safety and Mobility Improvements • Identify opportunities for short-term safety and mobility improvements that can be implemented right away (short term)

Debrief on the results of the community surveys, preliminary findings of the safety assessments, surveys, online comments, and discuss draft vision and goals

• Implementation/Action Plan for the identified short-term safety and mobility improvements • Community Engagement and Workshop outcomes will serve as inputs into Phase II. • Phase II will begin in December 2017 and focus on: • Mid-term and long term improvements • (aligns with other ongoing studies) • Subarea analysis & coordination with adjacent studies • Project development (conceptual designs) • MPO prioritization & seek construction funding in FDOT work program
