Profile Writing is my passion, and I’ve been lucky enough to be able to explore this passion across many fields. Starting as a reporter in an Irish national newspaper, my career so far has taken me on an interesting trajectory, with experience in PR, feature writing and political campaigning, to where I find myself now – in the world of freelance writing and web editing. Sourcing and !writing news stories related to the campaign was one of my daily tasks. ONLINE EDITOR, REACHOUT.COM; DUBLIN — 2010-2011 As online editor, I wrote and edited content for Reachout’s in-house political campaign “Get on Board for Mental Health”. I also handled PR, wrote press releases, blogs and managed social networking to gain supporters for the campaign. COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT, AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL; DUBLIN — 2010 As communications assistant, I wrote news articles, brochures and press releases to engage Amnesty International members with campaigns. Taking long, industry- oriented publications, I was tasked with re-writing these for use on the website. NEWS JOURNALIST, IRISH INDEPENDENT; DUBLIN — 2008-2009 My role in the news room involved writing and investigating news articles on a range of subjects including social affairs, crime and entertainment, conducting !interviews, fulfilling deadlines and sourcing original content. FEATURE WRITER, SUNDAY WORLD; DUBLIN — 2007 As a feature writer, I wrote and researched feature articles and interviews on a range of subjects, including lifestyle, health, entertainment, celebrity news and social affairs. Attending weekly strategy meetings, I helped to formulate !seasonal content plans. EDITOR, UCD COLLEGE TRIBUNE; DUBLIN — 2007-2008 My responsibilities as editor included producing fortnightly issues of a 36-page newspaper, sourcing and editing all content, acquiring high-profile interviews and sourcing! advertising revenue. !
