A stunning regal building, the only surviving building from Whitehall Palace, one of the first examples of the principles of Palladianism being applied to an English building. Site of a set of magnificent ceilings painted by Rubens. Architect Inigo Jones 1619. Next door is RUSI - the Royal United Services Institute, 61 Whitehall. Grade II* listed building built in 1895 as a discreet addition to the Banqueting House.
