UTV, Madhur Bhandarkar and Kareena Kapoor start shooting for “Heroine”
Mumbai, November 28, 2011: UTV Motion Pictures, National Award winning film maker Madhur Bhandarkar and Kareena Kapoor started shooting one of 2012's most anticipated films Heroine over the weekend.
UTV Motion Pictures and Madhur Bhandarkar's hugely anticipated film Heroine, slated for a 2012 release, started its shooting schedule on Saturday. Already buzzing in the press, Heroine sees Bollywood's number one heroine Kareena Kapoor essaying the character of a superstar in B-town and her journey.
As with any Madhur film, Heroine promises a fascinating insider's account; this time about life on top of the movie business today. Known for his amazing collaborations with some of the top heroines of the last decade, interestingly this is the first time Madhur is working with Kareena - and their pairing should create magic.

UTV and director Madhur Bhandarkar are associating again post the hugely successful film Fashion that swept the box office and the major awards, winning National Awards and Filmfares for its lead actresses Priyanka Chopra and Kangna Ranaut.
The project also marks 10 years of Madhur Bhandarkar's critical and commercial success in which he made cult films and big entertainers like Chandni Bar, Satta, Page 3, Corporate, Fashion and Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji. Madhur, who has already seen his movies bag 11 National Awards, considers Heroine to be his biggest film to date. Director Madhur Bhandarkar says, “I'm delighted that I'm making Heroine with UTV. We had a great experience of working together during Fashion and we are taking this beautiful relationship forward. Heroine is a dream project for me about an industry in which I have lived my dreams and it will be my biggest film to date."
Heroine, a co-production of UTV Motion Pictures and Bhandarkar Entertainment, is only getting bigger with each passing day. India's most celebrated fashion designer Manish Malhotra has come onboard for Kareena's costumes and styling. Top music director duo Salim-Sulaiman have been signed on to give audiences the biggest chartbusters of 2012. The casting of the film has also been the talk of the town with the dashing Arjun Rampal being paired in the role of a superstar opposite Kareena. Strong actors Randeep Hooda and Shahana Goswami have also joined the cast of the film. It just can't get any bigger than this!
