Lieutenant General Amarjeet Singh (Retd) Param , , Bar to Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, (Gallantry)

Lieutenant General Amarjeet Singh is an alumnus of National Defence Academy and was commissioned in the in 1979. He has had an illustrious career and held important command and staff appointments. He commanded an Infantry Battalion in Punjab and North East, the Kargil Brigade, a Division and a Strike Corps on the Western Front. Amarjeet attended the prestigious National Defence College Course, represented the country as Defence Attaché to Italy, Spain and Portugal and has been on the Faculty of Infantry School and Staff College.

He was awarded Sena Medal (Gallantry) for operations in J&K, and Param Vishisht and Ati Vishisht Seva Medals for his distinguished service.

During his service he has gained rich combat and administrative experience with skills in strategic planning, macro level policy formulation, training and leadership skill development, personnel administration, human resource planning and operational logistics.

A Bachelor of Arts from JNU, Master of Science (Defence Studies) from Madras University and M Phil (Defence Studies & Management) from Devi Ahilya University, Indore he is fond of reading and playing golf.

Lieutenant General Amarjeet Singh superannuated from the Indian Army, as the Military Secretary, last year and joined Bharti Enterprises as part of the University project under the Satya Bharti Foundation umbrella. He is also the Vice Chairman of Bharti Foundation and a member of the Advisory Board of Bharti Institute of Telecommunication Technology and Management, IIT Delhi.
