RUN-UP TO THE 99th FOUNDER’S DAY

The year 2019 witnessed the flagging-off of the Centenary year celebrations of Modern School, Barakhamba Road. The students, faculty and other members are energetically geared up for the 99th Founder‟s Day, the penultimate to the 100th Founder‟s Day. The School Orchestra has been working hard to strike a perfect blend of Indian and Western musical instruments- creating a symphonic fusion of Indian and Western melodies. With the soulful tunes of guitars and sitars, the melody is sure to leave the audience spellbound.

Students participating in the orchestra are practicing to attain rich sonic tapestries that seamlessly express the confluence of variegated global musical forms. The ballet practices are in full swing as well. Modern School‟s graceful dancers have been rehearsing tirelessly to put up a best show on the second part in the trilogy of ‘Footprints on the Sands of Time,’ the highlight of the show tracing the history of India‟s glorious past. The teachers and the students are relentlessly putting their best efforts to make the show a grand success.

The talented students of Modern School are also gearing up for the Founder‟s Day „My Space‟ Exhibition which will showcase the chef d‟oeuvres of our young artistes. The staff members of the Creative Wing are working tirelessly to make this event a successful one. The exhibition will showcase the creative works of all the departments of the Creative Wing such as Graphics, Painting, Fashion Designing, Paper Technology, Photography, Sculpture etc. Chief Guest for the occasion Col. Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, AVSM, Padma Shri, Khel Ratna, Arjuna Awardee, Member of Parliament and an Olympic Medalist has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest for the occasion.

2005- PADMA SHRI AWARD 2004-2005- THE RAJIV GANDHI KHEL RATNA AWARD (Highest Sporting Honour of India) 2003-2004- ARJUNA AWARD ATI VISHISHT SEVA MEDAL (AVSM), military award for exceptional service, presented by the President of India.

Rathore was the FLAG BEARER for India during the 2008 SUMMER OLYMPICS in Beijing, China. Col. Rathore was the FLAG BEARER for India during 2006 COMMONWEALTH GAMES in Melbourne, Australia.

1990- the Sikh Regiment Gold Medal (For the Best Sportsmen at the Indian Military Academy)
