Notice of Race (As amended 18 October, 2017 – Addendums #1 & 2)

Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club 2017 ICR NOTICE OF RACE

The Organising Authority, Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club (Inc), Perth, Western in Association with the respective Class Associations has pleasure in inviting you to participate in the 2017 ICR.

1. Rules The Regatta will be governed by the current Racing Rules of (RRS), the YA Prescriptions and Special Regulations Part 2 for Off the Beach Boats and the rules of the respective Classes.

2. Advertising Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the Organising Authority

3. Eligibility and Entry 3.1 The ICR will be open to skippers who are financial members of their respective Class Associations as listed:

3.2 Eligible boats shall enter online using the link provided here. or via the link on the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club website here.

Entries close on Friday, 17 November 2017 accompanied by the required fee. 3.3 Late entries will be accepted by the Organising Authority. 3.4 A minimum of 6 entries will be required for each class and a minimum of 3 starters for each race for a race to count in the overall score.

4. Fees 4.1 Regatta Entry $50.00 per Optimist or O’pen BIC Bronze fleet sailor $85.00 per single person boat $150.00 per two person boat

4.2 Late Entry Fee $50.00 per boat addition to the applicable Regatta Entry Fee. 4.3 Entry fee includes a lunch each day and 2017 ICR merchandise. 4.4 Bronze fleet entry includes two mornings of fun training and games with supplied coaches.

5. 5.2 No warning signal will be made after 1600 on Sunday, 26 November 2017.

6. Measurement All boats that are required to by their Class Association, shall have a current measurement certificate and are expected to have had their equipment approved by an appropriate measurer prior to this regatta.

7. Sailing Instructions Sailing Instructions will be published on the event page of the Club’s website at www.rfbyc.asn.au and will be made available to all accepted entries at Registration.

8. Regatta Site 8.1 The RFBYC Dinghy Clubhouse and adjacent rigging lawns will be the regatta site. 8.2 The regatta office, notice board and signal will be located at the Junior Clubhouse. 8.3 Canteen and shower/toilet facilities are available.

9. Racing Area The racing area will be within Freshwater Bay and surrounding areas.

10. Courses The course for all classes will be as described in the Sailing Instructions.

11. Scoring The Low Point Scoring system, RRS A4.1, will apply as modified by the sailing instructions.

12. Prizes Prizes will be awarded for:  Championship places overall.  Captain O. M. Watts trophy to the winner of the Optimist Gold Fleet.  Place prizes will be awarded subject to the number of entries and at the discretion of the OA.  Additional prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the OA.

13. Liability All those taking part in this Regatta do so at their own risk and responsibility. RFBYC is not responsible for the seaworthiness of a boat whose entry is accepted or the sufficiency or adequacy of its equipment. RFBYC reserves the right to refuse an entry. Attention is drawn to Racing Rule (RRS) 4 - Decision to Race which places the sole responsibility for a boat deciding to participate in a race or to continue racing as hers alone”.

14. Insurance Cover All competing helmspersons shall have Third Party Liability and Public Liability insurance cover of not less than AUD$10,000,000 for any one accident. By completing the Entry Form, helmspersons are deemed to have made a declaration that they have such cover.

15. Presentation of Trophies Presentation Function will be held at RFBYC Dinghy Clubhouse on Sunday, 26 November 2017 commencing as soon as practical after the last race. An invitation is extended to all competitors and their friends.

Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club 2017 ICR NOTICE OF RACE – ADDENDUM #1

The Organising Authority, Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club (Inc), in Association with the Western Australian 420 Association will conduct the 2017-18 Western Australian 420 State Championships in conjunction with the 2017 ICR.

Additions to the Notice of Race applicable to the 420 Class Only .

1. Eligibility The Western Australian State Championship is open to all eligible 420 Class boats that meet the following requirements: 1.1 Competitors shall be current members of a Yacht or Sailing Club affiliated with their respective State or National Authority and their respective State or National International 420 Class. 1.2 To be eligible for the State Championship prizes, competitors shall be financial members of the Western Australian International 420 Class Association and be a permanent resident of Western Australia.

2. Prizes Prizes will be given as follows:  WA 420 State Championship – 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall  First Female Helm & Crew  First Youth (U19) Male Helm & Crew  First Youth (U19) Female Helm & Crew  First U/17 Helm & Crew  First Crew Perpetual Trophy

Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club 2017 International Classes Regatta NOTICE OF RACE – ADDENDUM #2

The Organising Authority, Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club (Inc), in Association with the Western Australian Contender Class will conduct the 2017-18 Western Australian Contender State Championships in conjunction with the 2017 ICR.

Additions to the Notice of Race applicable to the Contender Class Only .

1. Eligibility The Western Australian State Championship is open to all eligible Contender Class boats that meet the following requirements: 2.1 Competitors shall be current members of a Yacht or Sailing Club affiliated with their respective State or National Authority and their respective State or National Contender Class. 2.2 To be eligible for the State Championship prizes, competitors shall be financial members of the Western Australian Contender Class Association and be a permanent resident of Western Australia.

2. Prizes Perpetual trophies and prizes may be awarded in the following categories. A boat is only eligible to win one of the prizes below:  Open Championship 1st Place (State Champion) International Contender Class WA Champion Perpetual Trophy  Women’s Championship 1st Place (female)  Junior Championship 1st Place (under 21 years)  Master Championship 1st Place (over 50 years)  Grand Master Championship 1st Place (over 60 years)
