But what I have gained in my new, tiny, indoor studio is a place to hook up my computer, my scanner, and several trusty printers––all right next to my workbench, which is, as always, resplendent in layers of , scraps, and . Having my computer and all the electronic gadgets right beside me is an excellent trade-off; not a day goes by that I do not scan, print, re-size, or digitally fiddle with some piece of art that I have created.

Before you begin, learn the basics of your scanner, printer, and digital software. Think about the output of your piece: do you plan on it being used for the Internet, being printed, or both? In this article, I’ll show you an easy way to create a digital collage by taking a real collage, scanning it into your computer, and adding images and text. the digital collage collage it To begin you will need a collage. 7. Digital Ground and inkjet ink are both water soluble. This affords you the ability to edit the print as desired. Using water and a stiff paintbrush, remove the parts of the image you don’t want to include. (Figure 9) In this image, I removed the wall around the girl and the dog.

8. Set the image if you plan to paint it. The easiest and quickest way to set the print is with Archival Spray Varnish. It will give you the best protection for your artwork and will seal the image.
