To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business and professional standards. To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship. To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities. To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and good will. Since inception our Club’s fundraising projects have raised over $3.5 million which, along with over 600,000 volunteer hours, have been contributed locally, nationally and internationally. Membership as at October 1, 2014 was 17 active and senior members and 1 honorary member. Our History The Kiwanis Club of Rideau (Ottawa) Incorporated was organized on October 28, 1955 with 30 members and was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa. Our Club received its Charter from Kiwanis International on Janu- ary 17, 1956 with 45 Charter members registered. Charter Members currently with our Club: Norm Lesh Bill Joe From 1955 to 2011 weekly luncheon meetings and since then twice-monthly luncheon meetings have been held at various venues throughout the city. (Terrapex) was retained by the City of Ottawa (City) to conduct a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) on the property located at 9 Leeming Drive in Ottawa, Ontario. The site was formerly St. Thomas Catholic School. The legal description of the site is as follows: · BLK E PT LOT 13 CON 1 OF; PLAN 442519 BLK E. The Phase I ESA was performed on the site to identify indicators of potential environmental risk and liability on, or adjacent to, the site. Environmental concerns include aspects that: · Would lead to liability in the event of ownership; · Have potential for impact on property value; · Would impact the present or future use of the property; and, · Would create obligation with respect to compliance with any environmental regulation and/or the proper or safe management of the property. The Phase I ESA included a review of historical records, municipal, provincial, and federal records, interviews, and a site visit. A Designated Substances Survey (DSS) was also conducted. The results from the D SS are f ound a separate report, titled Designated Substances Survey, June 2010). Based on an evaluation of the findings from the records review, the intervie ws, and the site reconnaissance visit the only environmental concerns identified are considered to pose a low risk.

    C1 Terms of Reference Introduction The Public Consultation Group (PCG), a group of stakeholders representing various regional interests, was established during Phase 1 of the Study to provide comment on the Study assumptions, alternatives, evaluation factors, evaluation methodology, conclusions and recommendations. The PCG, which is made up of community associations and interest groups, provides a forum for a two- way dialogue between the member organizations and the Study Team. PCG meetings are scheduled at key points during the Study to facilitate the understanding of issues and for committee members to provide feedback. Membership PCG membership has been organized into two sections; Working Members and Observers.
