By train from Merano to Malles Map No informations Directions The road to Stelvio takes you toSolda - Sulden (1906 m, tourist resort). Route 4 is a zigzag hike through woods, meadows, and moraines, passing the Rifugio Tabaretta (2,556 m, 2 hours) and leading to the col of Bärenkopf (2,877 m); Heading south we will be climbing another col (2,903 m) and arriving at the Rifugio Payer (3,020 m; 3:30 hours). After an overnight stay, we will follow the green markers to cross the rocky ridge west of the Punta Tabaretta, and then descend a narrow col (2,980 m, the top of a huge glaciated channel). We will then climb a rocky wall, exposed and vertical in parts but equipped with fixed chains and climbing aids. This 50-metre climb with a few 2-grade sections is not difficult and climbing to the last spur is facilitated by the use of a fixed spike. After we have reached the shoulder of the glacier (3,100 m approx.) the rest of the pathway is on ice and requires the use of crampons all the way. The track crosses a steep slope leading to the hollow valley of «Bärenloch» (bear hole), and turning to the right towards the rocks called «Tschirfeckfelsen » (Mount Cief). You can also climb up the steep glacier reaching the Lombardi Bivouac (3,316 m) keeping an eye out for the crevass along the edge of the rocks. We pass a relatively flat shoulder then cross a steep slope diagonally to get to the top of a platform and the snowy ridge (Firn) behind which we reach the cross on the summit (3,905 m; 3–4 hours from the refuge depending on conditions). POPULATION This report examines the socio-economic structure of the Vinschgau district. In order to highlight the special features of this region even better, a comparison with the neighbouring district of Burggrafenamt and South Tyrol as a whole will be carried out. The district Vinschgau consists of 13 municipalities and is located in the west of South Tyrol on the border to Austria and Switzerland. With 35,500 inhabitants and an area of 1,442 km², it is one of the least densely populated areas in South Tyrol. Due to its central location and around 6,000 inhabitants, Schlanders is the capital of the Vinschgau district. The Burggrafenamt, on the other hand, has a much larger population of around 101,600 inhabitants, 40 percent of which are living in Merano, the district's capital. The 26 municipalities of this district cover an area of 1,101 km². Und wenn auch nur recht verdrießlich gibt er geschlagen auf doch schließlich. Denn bunte Blüten das ist ihm bekannt verkünden, der Frühling zieht jetzt ins Land. Der Winter würde das gern vermeiden, aber Blumen kann er gar nicht leiden. So gibt er endlich gänzlich auf und der Frühling übernimmt den Jahreslauf. LÁlta Via dellÓrtles Escursioni ad alta quota intorno allÓrtles nel Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio LÁlta Via dellÓrtles La nuova Alta Via dell'Ortles si snoda nel territorio del Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio, dalla Val Venosta in Alto Adige fino alla Valtellina in Lombardia. Con un dislivello complessivo di 8.126 m, questo itinerario circolare cinge il Gruppo Ortles e, con i suoi tratti a oltre 3.000 m di altitudine, si qualifica come uno dei percorsi d'alta quota più impegnativi di tutta la regione alpina. Per le sue caratteristiche l'itinerario è riservato ad escursionisti esperti. Passo sicuro, ottimale condizione fisica e attrezzatura adeguata sono requisiti fondamentali per questo tour di sette giorni, che comprende un tratto di terreno ghiacciato. È consigliabile l’accompagnamento da parte di una guida alpina. L'Alta Via dell'Ortles, con i suoi circa 119,5 km, è un'esperienza nella natura davvero unica. Il percorso è diviso in sette tappe giornaliere, che per essere completate richiedono ciascuna da sei a otto ore. Le singole tappe dell'escursione circolare possono anche essere percorse come escursioni di un giorno, ideali per scoprire le ricche fauna e flora del Parco nazionale dello Stelvio. Il periodo ideale per tutti gli escursionisti esperti è quello da giugno a settembre, con temperature miti e una buona visibilità, che permette una vista panoramica unica sui ghiacciai del Gruppo Ortles.
