Approximate distance: 9.5 miles A walk through Barmouth harbour and up into to the hillsides above the Mawddach Estuary.

8. The milestone This is the old carriageway to and marks the crossroads between the seasonal routes.

Head into the valley to pass via the goldmine or cut across the valley higher up.

9. – The end Arrive at the main road at Taicynhaeaf where you can catch a bus back to Barmouth.

We went across the private toll bridge back to Morfa Mawddach.
