This Local Notice to Mariners supersedes previous Notices to Mariners that were issued specifically with regard to the management of COVID-19 within the jurisdiction of the harbours at , Abermaw (), and . In accordance with The Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) () Regulations 2020, as amended 30th May 2020, Council as the Competent Harbour Authority for the harbour of Porthmadog, and as the Statutory Harbour Authority for the harbours of Pwllheli, Abermaw (Barmouth) and Aberdyfi hereby gives notice that Wales Government restrictions will come into force at 18.00 on the 23rd October 2020 and will continue to Monday the 9th November 2020. As of 6pm on Friday 23rd October Hafan Pwllheli will be subject to the ‘FireBbreak’ lockdown as imposed by Wales Government. https://llyw.cymru/cyfnod-atal-y-coronafeirws-cwestiynau-cyffredin https://gov.wales/coronavirus-firebreak-frequently-asked-questions In order to comply with Wales Government directive it is a requirement that that Berth Holders and mooring holders ensure compliance with the regulations. The marina of Hafan Pwllheli will be closed to leisure craft users as of 18.00 on the 23 October 2020 until the 9th November 2020. During the ‘Fire Break’ lockdown period the marina and all harbours will remain fully operational. Commercial vessel owners, contractors, surveyors and transport companies are authorised to continue their activities as normal provided that such activity is in compliance with Wales Government regulations. Staff are on site at all harbours in accordance with published opening times. Staff are continuing with our 22/7 operation at Hafan Pwllheli. If a Berth Holder has any concerns and requires for a vessel to be checked for safety please contact the marina office directly. Staff will continue to check all vessels on a daily basis throughout this period. This Notice to Mariners has been issued with regard to the safety and well-being of local residents, staff, marina and harbour users; to minimise the potential requirement for assistance from the emergency services such as the RNLI and Coastguard volunteers; to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus in our and to save lives. The Harbour Authority will be undertaking further planning work to ensure its harbour management functions and arrangements fully comply with the all relevant Covid-19 Regulations and in compliance with the published Port Marine Safety Code.
