The Great Big Rhino Project Following the success of the Great Gorillas Trail in 2013, Paignton Zoo ran The Great Big Rhino Project across South Devon in the summer of 2016.

Rhinos are formidable creatures familiar to everyone but all five species are threatened with extinction – three are ‘Critically Endangered’ as defined by the IUCN. This means that they will not survive without massive and urgent action.

With our partners across South Devon, we showed how science and art can come together to create beauty and inspire the imaginations of adults and children alike, and at the same time raising funds for vital rhino conservation work. Our Zoo in Numbers
