About Head On: Mental Health Awareness Shabbat 2019

Head On: Mental Health Awareness Shabbat 2019 will be taking place on 11th & 12th January.

The aim of Head On Shabbat is to raise the profile of mental health in the Jewish Community. It is an opportunity to encourage people of all ages to be more in touch with their own mental health and wellbeing, and to raise awareness in the local and wider community.

Our vision is a Jewish Community that accepts, acknowledges and understands mental illness. A community which is resilient and has the capacity and capability to be healthy. A community in which symptoms of mental illness are as recognisable as a heart attack and trigger equally appropriate response. A community in which Parity of Esteem is a reality and an environment which helps, not hinders, recovery.

The first Mental Health Awareness Shabbat in 2017 saw over 80 synagogues, organisations, student and youth groups from across the whole Jewish community taking part, this rose to over 100 in 2018.

Head On 2019 is set to be even bigger.
