Parish Updates

Amesbury  Workhouse Hill gullies have been cleared.  Stonehenge Road & Recreation Road drains reported as being blocked. Clerk to report via the App.

Warminster  VF arranged meeting but it was at short notice so unable to attend. More notice required in future.  Output of flood extents from models to be confirmed with records held.  DE waiting for plans.  Flood Plan with Renate Malton. RM tried to contact Town Clerk no response as yet.  Gully cleaning now carried out targeted response.

Aldbourne  Drains blocked – Parish Steward extremely helpful but some need further machinery.  Flooding to road near bus stop reported.  Thames Water infiltration of system. Meeting last week was postponed. Contacts are still Huw Thomas and Denise Kinsella.  CCTV survey has been carried out.  Wiltshire Council still has outstanding action.

Allington & Boscombe  One gully in each area causes flooding. Check the App to see if reported.  Clearance of river bed promised.

Donhead St Mary  Drain blocked at particular location is continually being reported.

Tisbury  Issue with pipe from owners land. Outfall has been jetted. Paul Snook from Atkins has been extremely helpful.  Growth in Nadder reported. Consent would have to be sought if Parish Council were to remove it.

Bishopstone  Ebble currently flowing well, but has been low of late.  Landowners have cleared weed and banks. Trees have been removed.  Netton Street tree in ditch – local highways will remove.  Chalk Valley Management scheme to be led by the Chalk Rivers Trust. o 2 months ago there was a teleconference o European funding is likely to be available o Pamphlet to be issued. DE to chase

Coombe Bissett  Homington Road gullies blocked – parish to liaise with Graham Axtell.  Beech tree gullies cleared but there is still an issue. It requires vactor to clear.  Priority gullies detailed on flood plan

Shrewton  Recent flood on main road was cleared by parish steward.  Grips also cleared by parish steward.  EA have cleared reeds but will not clear drain. Parish paying to clear the drain.  EA annual weed cut due in November  Large tree in river. EA have tried to remove twice but both times wildlife habitat has prevented the removal.

Wilton  Castle Meadow flood defenses - Wilton Town Council and EA in discussions about the works.  Water Ditchampton has on going issues with riparian owners.  Silting in water courses noted.  Moathouse concerns - discussions taking place with riparian owners.  North Street A36 blocked gullies are Highways responsibility  Still ongoing issue with the cables at the COOP Bridge. Vicky passed to Ayesha to deal with.  Four corners mapping not yet available  Hillside Estate not sure of routing of drainage. To liaise with David Button.  Water Ditchampton sediment run off reported to EA with photos.  Meeting planned with catchment farming officer. Wiltshire Council rights of Way officer is Nick Cowan and is to be included.  Lower Road Has similar issues. Arrange walk about with David Button and Tim Woolford.

Ansty  Issue with 3 blocked gullies which have been reported on the App. One is on the A30 which is a high speed road. Action: Nicola Mundy to find app and report back to Jonathon Seed.  Issue with flow of stream noted, but absentee landowner is delaying the assessment of the stream.

Netheravon  High Street blocked drains. Jetter attended this week and cleared drains by Tea rooms.  CCTV gang should have been on site this week. 2 – 3 weeks before report available.  MOD to dig out ditch by tea rooms.

Pitton  Vicky Farwig was going to organise a meeting. EA Romsey are the leads on this.  Parish received the preliminary report from independent Engineer. Not hopeful of the recommendations.  Issue with culvert at Townsend is a convenience issue rather than a safety matter.

Berwick St James  Nothing to report.

Heytesbury, Imber & Knook  Danny Everett attended parish meeting  Parish updating flood plan

Marlborough  Back Lane drains sorted in July. Waiting to see if issue has been resolved.

Training for Emergency will be required in future.

Question about whether there are maps of gullies in the area, and where you find the information. Wiltshire Council has some information from previous district councils. Large maps can be provided for drains to be annotated. RM to organize.

Britford  Bridge Farm corner gully floods. Cleared leaves, but gully not adequate for heavy downfall. Unlikely to be improved in short term.  A338 by park and ride is flooding. Work undertaken last year by Wiltshire Council that seemed to resolve the problem. DE to speak with facilities management to clear the drainage.

Atkins  Nothing to report

Environment Agency  EA representative should be in attendance at next meeting.

Wessex Water  Downton – Work on system at Downton nearly complete.  Program of works for sewer repairs / sealing / up sizing being undertaken.  Wilton – CCTV being undertaken and then program for repairs or sealing.  Small Schemes - This winter carry out CCTV then works go onto program for 2019/20

- Berwick St James - Tilshead - Alderbury

 Infiltration Reduction plans on going since floods of 2013/14  Monitoring Ground water levels – below average at present.
