Approximate Hours/Week: Full Time, 30‐37.5 hours per week Seasonal Term: Monday, May 24 (flexible) ‐ Friday, September 17, 2021

Position Summary: The Digital Marketing Seasonal will support the Director of Marketing & Events, growing the digital presence of the nation’s longest riverfront Park. From managing social accounts for real‐time event content, to planning and executing integrated digital campaigns and more this Seasonal will have extensive experience in digital marketing for the nonprofit sector. You’ll be joining a small and passionate team dedicated to growing awareness for a vital public resource that provides more than 400 free public programs each year, conducts field‐leading environmental research, and is enjoyed by millions of New Yorkers annually.

Background:

The Trust is a public benefit corporation created by act of the New York State Legislature and a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The mission of the Trust is to design, construct and maintain a prominent, and very heavily used, 4 mile long waterfront park on the of . The Park includes landscaped public piers and display gardens, lawn areas, ecological planting zones, athletic fields, esplanades, docks, public sculptures and other special features. The Trust covers its $20 million annual operating budget through parking revenue, rents from commercial facilities, permits, fees, grants, donations generated by a “Friends” organization and other private sources. Approximately 75% of the Park has been constructed with a mix of State, City and Federal capital funding. Total investment in all facilities within the Park currently stands at approximately $540 million.

Hudson River Park produces free summer events designed for people of all ages and interests. 2021 events encompass virtual and in‐person family events, fitness events, multiple music series, and many other offerings – all of which take place in a beautiful waterfront setting. These unique events are designed to bring the public to ’s premiere waterfront park and make the time they spend at an extraordinary experience.

Responsibilities:

 Virtual Event Coverage o Assist with streaming of virtual events o Cover in‐house events on social media  Social Media Campaign Development o Work with Public Programs team to develop and execute Social Media content o Develop marketing copy for multiple channels  Audience Development o Work on projects to expand virtual audiences  Event Marketing Outreach o Conduct event marketing surveys at events o Track responses and produce reports as necessary  Support grassroots marketing efforts o Distribute marketing collateral in the Park  Finance Reconciliation

o Interface with different departments to ensure on‐time payments  Admin tasks as necessary

Qualifications and Requirements: The ideal candidate:  Will be highly organized, creative, detail oriented, proactive and able to work with a team to accomplish project goals  Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills  Professional experience with social media platforms and managing online communities a must  Computer savvy; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint  Knowledge of Mailchimp and Hootsuite  Knowledge Adobe Creative Suite a plus

The Digital Marketing Seasonal requires punctuality and excellent attendance and representation while onsite at events in Hudson River Park. Occasional evening hours are part of this position. Start date is May 24, 2021

Compensation/Benefits: $18 per hour. This is a seasonal position, with no additional benefits.
