CLOSE TITLE RACE HEADS TO MID-OHIO: The top four drivers in the Verizon IndyCar Series point standings are separated by just 23 points as the series heads into the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio. Mr. Mid-Ohio, five-time Mid-Ohio winner Scott Dixon, leads Helio Castroneves by three points, while defending Honda Indy 200 winner Simon Pagenaud and Toronto winner Josef Newgarden (pictured) are just behind them. WHAT TO WATCH FOR THIS WEEKEND: • GANASSI TEAM SEEKS ANOTHER MID-OHIO WIN: Chip Ganassi Racing hopes to keep its successful run going at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, where it has won 10 times, including six of the last eight races. Scott Dixon has won five races at Mid-Ohio, including the 2014 race after starting last, while Charlie Kimball claimed his first win there in 2013. Can Ganassi win for the seventh time in nine years?
• RAHAL RETURNS TO MID-OHIO IN SEARCH OF ANOTHER WIN: Graham Rahal hopes there’s still no place like home. The New Albany, Ohio native won at Mid-Ohio in 2015 while wearing racing gear inspired by Ohio State’s football team and has finished in the top five three straight years. Can Rahal add another chapter to his family’s storied history at Mid-Ohio? • FANTASY FOCUS: Looking for a fantasy favorite? Try Simon Pagenaud, who has finished on the podium four times in his previous six Mid-Ohio starts. Will Power has finished in the top five in five of his eight starts at Mid-Ohio. Need a value pick? James Hinchcliffe has three top-five finishes in five career starts at Mid-Ohio and Carlos Munoz has finished in the top five in two of his three Mid-Ohio starts.
