WHAT TO WATCH FOR THIS WEEKEND: • SERIES PREPS FOR DETROIT DOUBLE: The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear will mark the only doubleheader on the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series schedule. Drivers will contest a pair of 70-lap races Saturday and Sunday on the 2.36-mile temporary street circuit, posing a unique challenge for drivers and teams just a week after the 101st Indianapolis 500. Will someone sweep the races and be crowned king of the streets in Detroit? • HELIO RETURNS TO SITE OF FIRST FENCE CLIMB: Helio Castroneves returns to Belle Isle, hoping to climb the fence at the circuit where he won his first Indy car race in 2000. Castroneves, who hasn’t won a race since he won the first race of the Belle Isle doubleheader in 2014, has three victories and three poles at Belle Isle for team owner Roger Penske’s team. Can he win again at the Captain’s home track? • ANOTHER NEW WINNER?: The 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series has seen six winners in as many races. The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear offers two more opportunities for drivers to win a race. Will there be another different winner this weekend?
