A two minute silence is observed at 11am on 11th day of the 11th month to com- memorate the cessation of hostilities in 1918. As well as those who fell in World War I, we now use this anniversary to remember all those who have died in the service of their country. The list of conflicts during which members of the British armed forces and those serving their country and made the ultimate sacrifice are extensive.
