Hi. My name is Haim. I live in Israel. I am veteran cyclist. I practice 4 to 5 times a week. Usualy road bikes. Also mtb bikes. Two weeks ago I had a ter- rible fall in my mtb practice. I felt on my left side right on the head. This is not the first time I fall but the the first time that I lost full concious. A group of soldiers found me along the path unconcious and ambulance rushed me to the hospital. The senior neurocirurgist said and I quote “the helmet saved your life”. Well... I use lots of Rudy products for years (sunglasses, helmets and so). What can I say, well done Rudy for making such great products which proove themselves when needed. Here is attachment of me after awakening and the helmet (Rush. I also use Windmax). Sunglasess were totaly broken (so no picture for that... a Magster). Thanks to the constant feedback of professional athletes in both road and triathlon bike, countless hours at the Pininfarina wind tunnel driven by the renowned aerodynamic expert John Cobb, form factors and data analysis with experienced designers and engineers, we developed revolutionary helmets such as the Wingspan and the Wing57, leading us to virtually dominate the Lava Magazi- ne helmet count at the Ironman World Championship Kailua-Kona Hawaii four years in a roll. Building on 30 years of experience in aerodynamics and innovative styling we are introducing today a new milestone in the aero segment, the Boost 01.

56 REMOVABLE OPTICAL SHIELD

The fully integrated and removal shield BIKE HELMETS will ensure maximized protection and enhanced aerodynamics while eliminating annoying glare and eye fatigue. Build- ing on Rudy Project RP-Optics advanced polycarbonate technology, the visor combines cutting-edge coatings superior optical protection against harmful UV rays minimizing eye strain.

DORSAL RIDGE

Inspired by sharks, the dorsal ridge helps con- verting sideways force into a forward force, like it was a long tailed helmet. It gives more sur- face only when it is necessary, as with a cross wind, while it remains small for less frontal area effect.

VENT COVER

Aero helmets are equipped with a set of removable and modular front vent co- vers. One closed and the other in a mesh configuration, which will allow to mana- ge the airflow inside the helmet. Riders will be able to control ventilation and aerodynamic efficiency according to the environmental conditions and maintain body’s efficiency.

VORTEX KILLER SYSTEM

One of the major breakthroughs results from the scientific combination of the overall helmet design geometry and the two side vents; the purpose is to aid in the straightening of the airflow over the rear of the helmet. To help in managing these Vortex eddy low pressure points, which create drag and instability, air is directed, through a proprietary patented channel system, over the neck and shoulder areas at a different rate or volume than the oncoming free air: we call this invention Vortex Killer or Air Straightener System. This system adds significantly more ventilation inside the helmet: the Air director creates a high/low pressure area, on each side, so that air coming from the right vent goes to the opposite side of the Director and then flows out. And vice versa for the other side. Acceleration of air means more ventilation to help with sweat evaporation (rider cooling).

AERODYNAMICALLY ENGINEERED BY JOHN COBB

Designed with the aide of legendary aerodynamics guru John Cobb, the new Wing57 has undergone ex- tensive wind tunnel testing to become the best TT helmet on the market. Through this testing, Rudy Project and Cobb developed a unique tail geometry that works best for all TT positions and back profiles. Proven to beat out most competing aero helmets in time simulations, the Wing57 will be, without ques- tion, the best aero helmet on the market throughout the triathlon and cycling worlds. 58 JET STREAM REMOVABLE BIKE HELMETS MAGNETIC TAIL

The Wing57 is equipped with an ad- ditional and removable magnetic aerodynamic tail that can be added to the Air Director as its extension, improving its performance depend- ing upon rider’s back and shoulders configuration.

AIR DIRECTIONAL FLOW

The new shape of this helmet gives all the advantages of a NACA wing shapes (Nation- al Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) but avoiding the natural wind aligning energy cost of that shape itself due to cross winds.

The new Boost 01 is a true aerodynamic beauty, boasting unique and powerful functional design language. Extremely well vented, it incorporates many technological advances to lower aero drag by 12% compared to traditional road helmets, relocating the center of pressure point and reducing neck torque by 65%. The Boost 01 offers a unique and removable shield interface for full wraparound visual protection, enhanced flow dynamics and atmospheric management minimizing eye strain; its intelligent magnetic flip-up system will ease the athlete when putting the helmet on, while cutting fog and maximizing cooling during long rides. The Adaptable Air Control front vent cover can be easily removed for long distance or hot weather conditions, allowing massive front air intakes to cool the rider’s head. Based on our patented Vortex Killer System the Boost 01 pulls air rationally while accelerating heat transfer to cool the rider’s head very efficiently, making it an exceptional and functional dynamic sculpture, unmistakably Rudy Project.

SUPERIOR VENTILATION New internal air channels and the all new top vent help guide the air and further accelerate the air flow out of the rear of the helmet. The airframe frontal padding is crafted with innovative materials such as Dry Foam and X-Static antibacterial fabric: the former is a special white foam which does not absorb the sweat while the latter favours transpiration. Falls can prove to be very costly and have permanent consequences. The starting point for the development of Rudy Project’s cycling and mountain bike helmets is the adoption of excellent quality materials which guarantee safety and reliability. This is why Rudy Project undertakes to use only highly-advanced materials which can absorb shocks and dissipate the mechanical energy without it being transferred to the head and body. The structure of our helmets combines expanded polystyrene (EPS), a material which can disperse the force caused by an impact through a plastic deformation and polycarbonate shell for increased durability and protection.

COMFORT INTERNAL PADDING

One of the key quality element of Rudy Project helmet is its extraordinary head fit comfort. Most of our helmets are loaded with 2 interchangeable and washable paddings. Its design and position inside the shell has been scientifically studied to improve fit, ventilation and protection.

HEXOCRUSH TECHNOLOGY

The HexoCrush is one of the most advanced Rudy Project solutions. Based on the Cone-Head technology, this revolutionary feature is designed to maximize athletes safety by ensuring unprecedented level of security. The liner is molded with two different foam densities and the hexagon- shaped structure provides improved shock absorption by dissipating impact forces sideways and radially. The HexoCrush technology is incorporated within the Ra- cemaster liner, which is lighter and gua- rantees lower g-force pressure than any other helmet in case of crashes.

When a shock occurs, the impact force is directed towards the head pushing the outer layer to compress. Simultaneously, the head presses in the opposite direction compressing the inner layer and the hexagons. In this way, energy is spread within the foam instead of towards the head and, thanks to the hexagons, the g-force pressure on the head is reduced.
