STUDENT WIRELESS CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS Instructions for Streaming Devices Such as , Apple TV, Fire TV Stick and

Google Chromecast and APPLE TVS There is a known issue with the Google Chromecast devices and Apple TVS not being able to captive portals such as we have moved to (through a browser). They don’t work in other colleges, hotels and sometimes even apartments. Other colleges have asked Google for a solution in order to keep their networks secure, and just don’t allow the devices on their networks. We can do a work around by allowing your MAC Address (a unique network identifier) on a network specific for Chromecast and Apple TV devices (See next page for how to find your MAC addresses). If you are going to manage the Chromecast device with a computer or cell phone, we’ll need the MAC address of those devices also. Please see next page on how to find your MAC address or go to www.google.com and google your specific model of device with “How do I find the MAC address of XXXX?” Please the IT Help Desk at [email protected] with the following: 1. Your Name 2. Your Email Address 3. Apartment or Townhouse and Room Number 4.
