If you have been notified that you will need to receive certain immunizations in order to register, there will be an Immunization Clinic at Harvard Law School Health Services in the basement of Pound Hall, 1563 Massachusetts Avenue, on Monday, August 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. If you need immunizations, you must either (a) go to the August 20 Immunization Clinic; or (b) make an appointment in advance with Health Services to obtain the immunizations during the week of August 20 – but you may only do this when there are no mandatory Orientation activities in session. If you have already obtained all required immunizations and only need to provide updated documentation to obtain health clearance, you may visit Law School Health Services in person without an appointment on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. TALK PRESENTED BY HLS STUDENT GOVERNMENT (Optional) Wasserstein Hall – HLS Talks, founded by student initiative in 2017, is a student speaker series that provides an open Milstein East forum for students to share their stories and connect to each other person-to-person and not just as (second floor) law students. By sharing stories, not resumes, HLS Talks has become an integral part of the student community. In its inaugural year, TALK featured LL.M. students at all of their events.

1:30-4:30 p.m. ROYALL HOUSE TOUR (Sign-up required; space is limited) , Royall Professor of Law, will take a small group of students (up to 30) to tour the Royall House and Slave Quarters Museum in Medford, Massachusetts. Sign-up instructions will be announced during Orientation. If there is sufficient interest, additional tours will be offered during the Fall term.

The Royall House and Slave Quarters was the home of Isaac Royall, Jr., whose wealth from his family’s slaveholdings and sugar cane plantation in Antigua enabled him to become one of the wealthiest men in Massachusetts in the mid-eighteenth century. After he died, his bequest of land to Harvard led to the founding of Harvard Law School in 1817. Through its architecture and the household items and artifacts on display, the museum bears witness to the lives of the enslaved Africans who once lived on the .
