Remuneration: £27,000 p/a pro rata

Contract Period: Temporary. 4 months fxed term. Full time. [1 June - 30 September 2021]

Overall Responsibilities: Assist with planning and delivery of the Manchester Festival

We stage a number of events throughout the year including our fagship event and Manchester’s annual celebration of LGBTQ+ life; Manchester Pride Festival which takes place annually over the August bank holiday weekend.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced, committed and creative Deputy Events Manager for a fxed term contract until the end of September to work on the delivery of Manchester Pride Festival.

We are looking for someone who has worked on large scale events and enjoys being part of a dynamic, fast-paced team. The role will suit a candidate who has a great attention to detail, a creative thinker and someone who can maintain a high calibre of work in high pressure situations whilst working on multiple projects.

You’ll be joining a dedicated events team who deliver an Internationally renowned LGBTQ+ Festival celebration and we pride ourselves on our World-class standard.

● Deliver the full event process from inception to refection; ● Assist with stakeholder liaison including customer and public facing communication; ● Support the Events Manager in delivery of the Manchester Pride ; ● Oversee the Parade Troupe Volunteer Programme; ● Oversee customer and stakeholder Accreditation team for the Festival; ● Assist the Volunteer Manager and Engagement Team with the Volunteer Programme; ● Deliver the events operational elements of the Superbia Weekend programme; ● Assist the VIP Manager with advance administrative elements of the VIP experience; ● Assist in the planning of events for Youth Pride MCR and Family Pride MCR; ● Work with the Accessibility Team to deliver the accessible requirements for customers; ● Input into event safety plans, risk assessments and other relevant documentation; ● Procure event stock, services, facilities and signage; ● Plan, prepare and attend stakeholder meetings and take concise minutes; ● Assist with general admin support for the Events team including fle & database management and creating submission forms; ● Support the Head of Events, Events Manager and Events Coordinator in their day to day roles.

Please take note that due to the nature of our work, the fexibility to work outside normal ofce hours will be required.

Manchester Pride is looking for a person with experience within the events sector. We would expect the candidate to be able to demonstrate the following qualities and experiences, to include, but not limited to the following:

Skills, Experiences and Qualifcations

Essential ● At least 3 years experience in a similar position; ● Efective team worker who shows initiative and takes ownership of the role; ● Ability to work to strict deadlines, prioritising tasks and workloads; ● Keen eye for detail who can delivery a high standard of work; ● Capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously; ● Strong IT skills with experience of word processing, spreadsheets and presentations; ● Strong planning and organisational skills with experience working in administration ● Highly organised and strong attention to detail; ● Ability to problem solve; ● Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, written and oral; ● Excellent time management skills; ● Financial acumen and ability to work within agreed budgets; ● Strong interpersonal skills to work with a diverse range of people; ● Self management skills and ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team; ● Ability to manage sensitive information; ● Ability to use project management processes and systems; and ● Understanding of the core aims and objectives of Manchester Pride.

Desirable ● Full UK driving licence; and ● Worked on large scale festivals or events.
