DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR/LINEBACKERS COACH Football

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, an NCAA Division I member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) is seeking an outstanding individual who meets the following qualifications for the position of Defensive Coordinator: Bachelor’s degree required as well as significant and successful experience in coordinating defensive units, including managing all assistant coaches and student-athletes on the defensive side of the ball. The defensive coordinator will be charged with the responsibility of developing general defensive game plans and calling the plays for the defense during games. The incumbent will additionally be charged with serving as a position coach for linebackers and will represent the second level of command structure, along with the offensive coordinator. The incumbent will assist the head coach in all facets of the football program as he works to develop a quality NCAA FCS program that will be competitive within the Southwestern Athletic Conference on the field, in the classroom and in the community.

Specific responsibilities of the defensive coordinator/linebackers coach will include, but not be limited to: recruiting qualified student-athletes for success participation; developing an annual defensive playbook and teach progression; developing scouting reports; managing film sessions and meetings for all defensive positions; and assisting with monitoring the academic progress of assigned team members. The defensive coordinator/linebackers coach must have a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and must pass the NCAA rules test. He must demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship and conduct becoming of the coaching profession.
