At the easternmost edge of the Alps, near the border between and Austria, lie the most beautiful mountains in the world - the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Their unique carbonate-rock formation originated around 250 million years ago in tropical latitudes from the deposition of seashells and coral reefs. Mount Lagazuoi is located halfway between the Queen of the Dolomites, Cortina d’Ampezzo, and Alta Badia. The Fassa Valley, the Gardena Valley and the Pusteria Valley are all less than 60 minutes away by car. The top of Mount Lagazuoi can be reached in three minutes with a modern ROOMS M.I.C.E. The Lagazuoi Refuge is the highest and the largest mountain hut in Cortina d’Ampezzo and boasts the most panoramic terrace in the Dolomites. It’s situated just 50 metres from the upper station of the cable car and from Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti. It offers: • a bar and restaurant with 100 seats inside / 200 on the terrace • 74 beds in private rooms and dormitories • a spectacular Finnish outdoor sauna

Vertical pinnacles of bare, towering rocks in an almost lunar landscape, with peaks tinged with the characteristic enrosadira at sunset. A timeless landscape waiting to be discovered along paths of varying levels of difficulty, from an easy walk to the cross on the summit of Mount Lagazuoi to the challenging Alta Via delle Dolomiti itineraries 1 and 9 at high altitudes. The area hosts an extensive open air museum of the Great War with fascinating itineraries of various levels of difficulty through trenches and tunnels from World War I. There are rock climbing areas, scenic rope-lined paths and challenging climbing routes to satisfy even the most demanding of adventurers.

Skiing on the pistes of Mount Lagazuoi is an immersion in the spectacular nature of these mountains as well as a trip back in time to witness the dramatic events of the First World War in the Dolomites.
