Lakin bu seçimler yılının gelecekte İspanya siyasi tarihinde önemli bir yere sahip olacak olmasının sebebi ise Abertzale (Yurtsever) solun tekrar Bask siyasi yaşamında bir aktör haline gelmesi ve genel ve yerel seçimlerde oldukça parlak sonuçlar almasıdır. Bask bölgesinde hükümet koalisyonunu oluşturan merkez partilerin oy kaybı yaşadığı, gelenekçi sağ Bask milliyetçisi PNV’nin ise duraklamaya girdiği 2011 seçimlerinde Abertzale solun çekirdeğinde yer aldığı Bildu ve Amaiur koalisyonlarının yerel ve genel seçimlerde yaşadıkları oy patlaması ve elde ettikleri başarı ETA’nın zayıflatıldığı ve ateşkes ilan ettiği bir dönemde Bask sorununun siyaset mecrasında çözülmekten başka bir çözüm yoluna sahip olmadığını göstermektedir. Bu makalede 2011 seçimlerine kadar yaşanan süreç ve 2011 seçim süreci ele alınarak Bask solunun yükselişinin siyasi ve sosyal sebepleri tartışılacaktır. One of the most genuine forms of oral expression, the improvised singing of Basque bertsolaris or verse singers, Joxerra Garzia has shown an ability to adapt to the new circumstances and > make itself an alternative information circuit which currently enjoys an important presence in the media and great prestige socially. This book is about the complex reality of this phe- nomenon of oral improvisation which we call bertsolaritza. It opens with a critical appraisal of the sociocultural featu- res of current bertsolaritza and outlines the challenges th- rown up and the opportunities afforded by its adaptation to new winds of change. Unexpectedly and painfully yet another date came to prominence this March: on the 14th, Anjel Figeroa died without having being able to gain the freedom required by his suffering a serious neurological disease, paroled to his home since 2008. For the second time, the special prison policy had taken its toll in the family life of the Basque prisoner: for also on March 14 (in 1997), as she tra- velled to the prison to visit Alcala Meco, a traffic accident took the life of Antxoni Fernandez, Anjel's grandmother. The 16 years between the death of Fernandez Ant- xoni of Anjel are the bloody reflection of our rea- lity: neither the Basque political prisoners nor we, their family and friends, know any other reality than that of suffering the consequences of a spe- cial prison policy. Nor have we have known any 598 other throughout the past 16 years; we have known no other in previous years, nor do we know any other now that in a new situation in which, not without obstacles, the Bas- que Country is headed towards peace. While international experts asked Ma- drid and Paris for moves on prisons as a way of strengthening the peace process, both states persist in giving them the opposite: Xabier Lopez Pena has been in a Paris hospital since the 11th of this month, after a delicate medical procedure that did not go as planned.
