Assembly Instructions – The Malibu.

What you will need: • 1 power-drill, either electric or cordless o Phillips Head drill tip o 8mm Hex Head drill tip Hardware included: • (40) Hex Head Screws – used for: o Joining to walls and to sections o Securing o Fixing posts and pickets o Attaching veranda o Attaching Servery to side of Cubby • (12) Phillips Head Screws (50mm) – used for: o Attaching the corner trim pieces and side- awning • (4) Phillips Head Screws (40mm) – used for: o Attaching internal server supports • (2) Phillips Head Screws (100mm) – used for: o Attaching ‘short’ picket to cubby

Cubby Sections included: • Cubby: o Cubby Floor o Front wall, back wall, side wall (left side) and side wall (right side) o 2 roof sections + 1 Veranda awning o 2 pickets (1 Short for side, 1 Long for front) o 2 verandah posts (70 x 35mm with 30 degree angle tops) o 4 corner trims (shorter ones belong on the front) o 1 internal shelf/server • Perspex: Comes covered with brown paper to protect it from scratching. Just peel it off.

To Construct:

Attach walls to floor: • Place cubby floor in position – ensure floor is level. • Stand the back gable wall and one sidewall on the floor. The wall frame should sit flush on top of the floor. • Use the Hex Head screws to attach the walls to each other. Do not screw the walls to the floor. This stage will come later. o Attach approx 10cm from the top and bottom of the frame using the Hex Head Screws • Follow the last two steps for each of the wall sections. • Attach all walls to the floor ensuring you screw into the floor bearers where possible (bearers are the beams running underneath the floor).

Lastly: • Attach corner stops to each corner of the cubby with Phillip head screws.

Attach Roof: • Place the one roof section (with timber trim and no capping) onto one side of the cubby. The timber trim is the bottom edge. Ensure that the angle cut at the top is aligned with the apex of the cubby. From inside the cubby use a Hex Head screw to screw up through the sidewall frame and into the roof batten. • Position the other roof section; the capping should sit over the top (remove the clear plastic from capping first). The angle cut of side timber should meet at the apex. o From inside screw up from frame into battens.

Verandah and Pickets: Align a ‘Prop’ with pre-marked centerline above (this will give you your starting point for the veranda). Place rear fascia apex of veranda on top of ‘Prop’ ensuring door is not obstructed from opening by Veranda. Place other ‘Prop’ in apex of front veranda fascia for temporary support Attach veranda fascia to cubby with 2 x 65mm Hex screws (provided) being sure to locate, and screw into, front wall studs of cubby. Attach Veranda Posts to Veranda using (supplied) 65mm Hex screws Attach Veranda Posts to using (supplied) 65mm Hex screws (Note: Place posts on second row of decking to align with correct picket position). Attach Pickets together at right angle using interlocking overlap for position with (supplied) 2 x 65mm Hex screws. Place Pickets into position ‘butting up’ the side of the Long Picket to the Veranda Post and the Short Picket to the Front corner of the Cubby and the picket post on the deck also in line with the second row of decking. (Note: Attach Long Picket to Veranda Post using 65mm Hex Screws, attach Short Picket to Cubby using 2 x 100mm Philips Head screws. Ensure to locate, and screw into, front wall corner stud). Attach Corner Post to Deck using (supplied) 65mm Hex screw

Servery: Attach server level with window using 2 x 65mm Hex screws Attach diagonal supports using 4 x 40mm Phillips Head screws
